Don't get me wrong, I am not pro-crack. But, I sometimes think that crack has, relatively-speaking, gotten bad rap. It has been portrayed as this drug that can get you addicted if even think about smoking it. But, there are actually a fair number of people who are able to smoke the drug and maintain relativly normal lives. Is crack any worse than meth, or heroin, or oxycontin in terms of how likely it is to derail an otherwise normal life?

The only reason it's gotten the "horribly addictive" rap is that the price of entry is so low. You can go back in an hour with eight more bucks and get buzzed again, whereas a gram of the real stuff takes much more, and so is sort of self-limiting.
