Spree: See the descriptor tag.
So, will this be enough, or will we see Wolfowitz, Feith, and/or Rumsfeld go before November?

WASHINGTON - CIA (news - web sites) Director George Tenet, who weathered storms over intelligence lapses about suspected weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (news - web sites) and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, has resigned, President Bush (news - web sites) said Thursday.
"I will miss him," Bush said.
Tenet came to the White House to inform Bush about his decision Wednesday night. "He told me he was resigning for personal reasons," Bush said. "I told him I'm sorry he's leaving. He's done a superb job on behalf of the American people."

believe me, your words are marked. 2 more reforms and we're going to be detaining you.

Query for the Con-side: did the impeachment (a.) help; (b.) hinder; or (c.) have no effect whatsoever on America's ability to respond appropriately to terrorist threats?
If your answer is (a.), who gets the credit, Clinton or the House GOP?
If your answer is (b.), who gets the blame, Clinton or the House GOP?
If your answer is (c.), I'll take my answer off the air.

b- house GOP to blame. It was more damaging internally, and ultimately let the fuck become somewhat rehabilitated.

Right, I got the memo about how "silly pictures" have joined the long list of things (already including "dissent", "atheism", "civil liberties" and "questioning the actions of government") are now unamerican.

First I find the Dem's Trojan Hoss arguing here that drugs are moral, and now I find out the whole Dem party was just kidding with that whole political correctness thing. OK, OK, its cool if you make fun of the guy for talking with his hands. What's next, handicapped orphans?

"It's not you, it's me. My need for a fall guy. Can we still be friends?"
ETA The thought of Bush and Tenet together is actually kinda hot. Maybe that "Can we still be friends?" should be "Can we still sleep together when no one else is available?"

If there is a chance they'll ask him questions -- he'd be nuts not to get his own lawyer. As Ty notes, the Clinton-era prosecutions establishes that neither DOJ nor the White House counsel can represent the President personally.

Understood, but I highly doubt he will be called in front of a grand jury. Ty do you have a cite for this? Is it clear from the artlce that it was in connection with the Plume matter, or is there some conjecture going on.

So he's consulted with (but not yet hired) a lawyer. I still highly doubt that the AG is going to put him in front of a grand jury, unless it is absolutely necessary.

What Happened to Lincoln?

(Condi says history will rank W as a statesman alongside Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill)
Oh, brother. That's just rich. How does she keep a straight face when she says this shit? Regardless of your view on the war in Iraq, it's hardly been a diplomatic tour de force (pardon my French). Wasn't it Kissinger who said the essence of statesmanship is nuance?

Ashcroft recused himself, so it won't be up to him. It's the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois who's running the show. Knowing little about the investigation, I would tend to agree, but the President knows something we don't that prompted him to get counsel. So, you never know.
eta: Maybe I need to listen to NPR more.

No. They will question him -- but if its under oath it would be by deposition at the WH. My cite would be the NPR report on Morning Edition. WH confirms Bush retained [lawyer X] regarding the Plame matter -- refused to confirm or deny whether Cheney had retained counsel.
