And while we're speaking "anonymously," I think it's weird that I let you know I was going to be in town a (long) while back and invited you to meet up with me and a bunch of other people and you didn't even respond. If you had, you would have met a ton of diverse people (including attorneys at firms and in-house in MN) and you might have actually expanded your personal and professional network such that you wouldn't be looking for pathetic cred. I'm sure you were away or some shit, but that was strange.

That, they do. And I don't care that part of their (or their main) goal is expanding their potential markets for overpriced athletic wear. This shit is important.

Given the backlash over the expanded representation for people of color and women in movies (mermaids can't be black?--this shit is just fucking stupid), TV, whatever, this stuff is so very important. It is amazing the difference in what my daughter is exposed to vs. what I saw. The difference in what we thought our own potential is is remarkable.

I realize that sports and superheroes and pretend shit is viewed as simple entertainment for so many who have enjoyed seeing people who look like them do amazing things their whole lives, but I can tell you that representation changes what people who are otherwise on the margins think of themselves. I hope it changes the thought processes for those who aren't as well.

I was just saying I don't think anyone can honestly say they knew everything in there. Saying you knew everything dismisses some pretty subtle and challenging stuff.

And I glad i read it, not to make you happy- I mention your suggestions to get some of these other socks to go.

She made some amazing saves, first got tagged with a penalty kick, and almost got the second goal. Kids don't seem so "local" loyal today, at least within the country-

If I go see a Lakers game in Detroit I def see more purple and yellow than blue/red.

i could see a goalie wanting Netherlands to win in view of her.

I just had a really tough conversation with my non-soccer playing daughter, who is 11 (the 9-yr old plays soccer).

"Daddy, the U.S. women's team is better than the men's team right?"

"Well, no. The men would beat them."

"No they wouldn't. Everyone says that the women are better than the men. Are you saying the women are bad?"

"No, of course not. They are unbelievable."

"So they would beat the men, right"?
