And the term "Lathamed" was not coined then, but decades before.
Not only was it coined decades before, but it doesn't even mean what they say it does. Being Lathamed originally meant that you had been laid off because the firm couldn't keep you busy, but Latham would deny letting anyone go on anything other than performance issues.

True, but only one of two true losers out of about 40 winners, including one 10x and a few 3-4xs. And that was only due to Adelphia lying about the amount of thier customers in their SEC filings. I.e. Plated was acting on false info. I and he were also part of that class action. I'm not going into it, but he is an alpha value investor, not an insider. I havw waited 3-5 years sometimes for the value to be achieved, but (barring corporate fraud) it almost always has been. The man, and his investment buddies, are fucking smart.

I know. I thought all the bad news was out there already and didn't think they were committing fraud too. He knows his stuff. I really meant it as more of a comment on my luck to jump on the ONE that goes straight down the crap hole, and a stroll down memory lane. Plated's Picks. Me doing nothing but dot com venture capital work. Man, I am old now.

And it was only my second worst mistake, I bought QQQ in 2000 all on my own. To my credit, I was only 23.

3. When was law - big, small, or medium, all practice specialties - a collegial, communal environment, in which people were more interested in being part of a "profession" than making money like any other business? That Disneyland must've been a hell of a swell time to be any kind of professional. Docs would've whistled as they biked to work, accountants would have clicked their heels like Gene Kelly in Singing in the Rain as they rushed down the sidewalks to their fascinating days of preparing corporate tax returns... Prozac would never have been invented. And of course, unsolicited fellatio from a Sophia Vergara lookalike for everyone, at least once a day.
I worked at the profiled firm. At one of the less profitable satellite offices. Not much in the article surprises me. I was pretty sure for the last few years I was practicing law that the big firm model was going to have to readjust itself in a major way or it would be shrinking/going away. What's the incentive for an associate to ever stick around and try to make partner anymore? There certainly wasn't one when I was an associate 5+ years ago, and I don't see it getting more likely...

Although now when he does it, me and my cubicle-mates get a nice chuckle out of it. After the repulsion goes away, that is.

I am talking about a throat clearing "HUH" every 20-30 seconds. Might be tourettes.

I was tangenting. And I always have headphones on at the gym, so I've never had the pleasure. Sounds lovely.

A lot of people that are talented in sound have super sensitive hearing and get more troubled by noises like this than most people would. it's sort of like how the more cerebral socks like me get bothered by adder or ggg.

I believe that everyone will mostly agree that I am mainly correct when I say that you are quite welcome.

So, with NFL training camps starting to open, I'm thinking about finally breaking down and coming up with fantasy team. What do you think of this as my football season avatar?

I really like you NB, but the cultural references you get, and the ones I get, diverged about the time Rockford Files was cancelled.

It was directed towards my imaginary little sister (and fellow Giants fan) notcasesensitive -- sorry. The gentleman pictured is Joe Pisarcik, and surely you remember The Fumble. Poor Joe certainly does.
