My family’s glamorous lifestyle has meant that we have been frequent flyers at a local head lice comb-out salon. It’s a posh chain, and some of the twentysomethings who do this work had previously worked out of the LA store. They coyly hinted that they had picked lice eggs off the heads of Hollywood royalty, but that nitpicker-client confidentiality precluded them from naming names.
First I wondered if that was just a cheap way to buy credibility by name-dropping without name-dropping. Then I wondered if I would have had the fortitude to keep it to myself that I had touched Katie Holmes’s hair.

My favorite cocktails generally involve putting the ice and carbonated beverage in a separate glass from the liquor.

It's too bad most of Hollywood goes for the shaved look downstage these days.

If I were Pacino, I would send that note but say "TWO TIMES." Best to let everyone forget about the third.

I know that scene is terrible and I still love it.

My hairstylist does Ian Ziering's hair (I know this because I had an appointment right after his appointment one day, not because she's a namedropper). I wonder if he tips her better now that he's a big Sharknado star. He is NMT but really looking better with age than he did 90291 era.

"Not My Type"?
In other Not-related news (get it?), former New York Giants coach Allie Sherman died. http://mobile.nytimes.com/2015/01/06...html?referrer=
Even I'm too young to remember his glory years, but I heard his name repeatedly in The Ancestral Homeland in lines from my dad like "the goddamned Giants haven't won a thing since they fired Allie Sherman," usually followed by a swig of Stanwix.

That’s exactly why the scene sucks SO MUCH. I’ve read that Korean boy bands (which are a big thing, BTW) have their music written by an algorithm that’s been carefully developed to use a tried-and-true chord progression to produce popular hit after popular hit. The expulsion hearing scene of “SoaW” was the cinematic equivalent: making you think you’re seeing how a hero sticks it to The Man, when what’s really happening is that an argument is being made that the protagonist should be allowed to cover up for his bros so they can all graduate from their tony prep school. Because a code of silence is integrity — which may be so in the face of injustice, but which in this case allows actually guilty students not to be punished for a prank they, you know, actually committed. Hoo-ah!
