He's an idiot. Second dumbest on the dais, just above Bachmann.
This is based not only on his speeches and obvious lack of capacity for thinking on his feet, but a few friends' recollections of meeting with him, one a political operative who had breakfast with him and came away thinking, "Oh. My. God. The man's handicapped."

It isn't hard to look politically smart when you're running for Romney's VP. The qualifications for the position involve looking stupid, to collect the rube voters who'd be put off by Romney's "businessy talk" and "slickness."
Shut up and don't pick on Mitt. Talk up your pro-life stance, and speak in generalities about how we need not only an economic, but moral resurrection in the country (and how the two are interconnected) to get the Jesus Freaks excited.
Who can't ace that script?

I know "a pox on both houses" is your default setting, but (a) Obama is the President, (b) he raised the date with Boehner's office beforehand and they didn't object, and (c) no Speaker has ever said this to a President before.

It's not a null set. But your general point has much merit - it is close to one. Which underscore the pathetic nature of Obama's request. (I could be wrong here, however... I've seen conflicting stories about which thing was scheduled/requested first. Can't find a definitive answer.)
I agree with your second paragraph's suggestion Obama encourage people to watch GOP debates. I would suggest he stream links to them on his Twitter and Youtube accounts with this heading: "Option B: You Decide."
On your last point, the ship's in uncharted territory. And as I noted above, I can't find out who scheduled or requested what first. If you find a credible link on that issue and you're right, I'd say Boehner is acting inappropriately.

This stuff is ridiculous. These banks need to be prosecuted.

SAN JOSE -- A pickup truck hauling large bags of marijuana overturned and spilled its load in south San Jose, but passers-by took care of much of the cleanup, police said today.
Onlookers rushed to scoop up the dumped weed as the driver of the white, 1992 Toyota pickup fled from the scene of the crash at Blossom Hill Road and Playa Del Rey at 12:48 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
When officers arrived, most of the marijuana had vanished along with the driver, who left a loaded gun behind in the truck. Police are still looking for him.

Re: My God, you are an idiot.
The R's could have done so much more with this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0scZm...ature=youtu.be . Just even a single comment about how government generally sucks at making efficient choices, but Obama believes in Gov. deciding which businesses should be supported by YOUR taxes, instead of the market, would have been effective.

Not sure the feds have any role in going after repeated misrepresentations to state courts, but I do agree that the Administration seems to think that anything that's bad for financial institutions is perforce bad for the country.
