If you mean "clinton's plan". I'm going to dissent. Completely ignoring al queda as it grew and blew up US shit is the opposite of "associating." or do you mean how Hillary used to make out with Arafat?

You say potato, I say the interconnectedness between Democrat party and all the world's evil doers is manifest.

I don't think you're allowed to use "interconnected" to discuss US policy. Or maybe that doesn't take effect until the next Congress.

It's all about context. Dems and terror = interconnected. The fact that all of the largest banks in the world have giant daisy chains of trades that lock them so closely together that the failure of one necessarily means the failure of others = free market, baby!

True. Whereas, making out with the Saudi king while they are financing al Qaeda is pretty much the definition of "associating."
Probably explains why Clinton was willing to fire some cruise missiles, while W didn't do shit even after getting the report that "Al Qaeda Is Planning Attacks Within US"

I don't follow this. Why are you attributing all of the $25B to bonuses?

So Michelle Bachman's 20 trillion estimate was off by.... um, well, about the average margin of error for Michelle Bachmann.

b/c they paid *more* than $25B in bonuses, and free money = "profit".

I still don't follow (maybe I'm slow today), but don't really care that much.

I'm assuming, for discussion of the net cost of TARP, that every dollar given to the recipients resulted in an extra marginal dollar of bonuses.
No, of course there isn't a specific correlation (just as you can't say "club's taxes all go to the USS Ronald Reagan", even tho the daily op costs of CVN-76 exceed your total tax bill), but I would virtually guarantee that aggregate bonuses paid by all TARP recipients have been more than $25B higher over the past 3 bonus years than they would have been w/o TARP.
Thus, the marginal $25B in bonuses are all the "result" of TARP and all taxable at the top marginal rate, and so resulted in ~$10B (yeah, yeah, rounding up) in additional tax revenue, reducing the all in net cost of TARP to ~$15B.

And I'm 100% certain that if I were in a foxhole with a gay man and taking heavy fire from a Taliban position, he would be thinking about butt-sex. Not about returning fire, not whether we could call in an air or artillery strike, not about how we could get to a better position, but butt-sex, butt-sex, butt-sex.
As a result, I would be distracted by butt-sex. Or, more accurately, about how to avoid butt-sex. Because the potential for him inflicting butt-sex on me is much more worrisome than the Taliban bullets. Hence, I could get wounded or even killed, and all because of the repeal of DADT.
Obviously, under DADT, I would not know if my foxhole-mate were gay. Whereas, without DADT, I would know with 100% certainty -- since gay people who are not subject to DADT, say in normal civilian life, are always 100% out with their colleagues all the time, particularly when they work in places like the US Marine Corps. So, with DADT, I would not know my foxhole-mate was gay and constantly thinking of butt-sex, and since I would not know it would not bother me and I would not be distracted.
|
FWIW, I spend most of my dayz thinking, in part, about va-jay-jay sex, which is one reason that I have avoided military service with any all-female units (npi). On the other hand I would be open to being sentenced to an all woman's prison.

if I'd known there was a vote I'd have made my associates stay late and vote for repeatedly for you. let me know next time.

I heard he got 90% of the vote from EsEff dwellers with bumper stickers on their cars, tho, so he has something to build on for next year.
