I have a dress that color with a similarly plunging neckline that I quite like a lot. It's the dress I tend to wear to night time weddings. My coloring is quite different though.

Just knowing you care makes everything a little better. And now that I landed that sweet job behind the counter in the New Jersey DMV, I don't have to trouble myself 'bout none of that Wall Street nonsense. It's all gravy!!!

I am getting old
I now only recognize about half of the "celebrities" in US Weekly.

Purple and coral could look quite nice. Sounds rather Pucci.

Age has nothing to do with it. I recognize all of them, unfortunately.
I even know all the names of the Jonas Brothers thanks to my neices. And on Saturday, while shopping in Staples (exciting weekend!*), I recognized a Miley Cyrus song on the store music. My life is not any better for it.
*then the new, non-stinky dildo arrived in the mail. Yay! The weekend took a turn for the better after that.

Was the stinky dildo determined to be defective?

Mr. Man would have been proud of me this weekend. I went to a local bar that was celebrating the musky, "the fish of ten thousand casts", at the 17th annual Musky Fest, where too many Leinenkugels were comsumed. A Musky Queen was crowned. Jake Leinenkugel served as Grand Marshal. According to Will's Northwood's Tavern, "the lucky lady who is crowned 'Musky Queen 2008' receives a tiara and sash, a stuffed Musky, a free keg party at Will’s, and a choice of $250 in cash or a week at Aunt Hannah’s cottage on Lac Little Court Oreilles, Wisconsin (outdoor plumbing, and no heat)."

i thought you had spelled the fish wrong. here, which is the muskie capital of the world, we spell it -ie. but google showed your bar is simply using an alternative spelling. i wonder if the y/ie divide is a US/ Canadian thing, or perhaps the divide is Lake michigan/ lake St. Clair?

I usually spell it "ie", but used the fest's spelling of it for my post.

The Emmy Awards & The Wire

What is up with that anyway? How can a show that good get only two nominations in 5 years? Too many black people? Too many black people playing bad guys? At the very least it should have been nominated for writing every single year and probably for directing too. And I could have picked out several good nominations in the various acting categories during the 3 seasons I have finished.
Speaking of The Wire, I've just started watching Season 4. In one of the early shows, We-Bay's kid and GF/wife are visiting him in prison and he asks if they are still getting checks. Now that Stringer and Avon Barksdale are dead, does Barksdale's sister have all the legit assets to be supporting them? Because Bodie seems to be the only part of the crew left in business and he's on his own just buying product from Prop Joe.

avon isn't dead.
edit: like Thurgreed said, they still own the buildings.
and speaking of shows that should be up for an award, how is "It's always sunny in Philadelphia" not up? is it just too wrong?

Avon isn't dead. He's just in jail. But I do think his sister has a firm grip on the family's assets.

Bad News for RT

Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are having trouble getting financing for Tintin. Yeah. How is this possible? I dunno.

Steven Spielberg has completed his protracted exit from Paramount Pictures after sealing a $1.2bn deal with Reliance Big Entertainment of India to finance his future projects.
Mr Spielberg is taking with him the DreamWorks brand, which he co-founded with David Geffen, before it was bought by Paramount in 2005.
A lucrative pay arrangement potentially worth hundreds of millions of dollars will kick in for Mr Spielberg following his departure.
The film director will be entitled to 7.5 per cent of the box-office gross and 50 per cent of the profits from certain future DreamWorks projects released by Paramount.
Under the terms of the original $1.6bn purchase of DreamWorks, Mr Spielberg and Mr Geffen were not paid by Paramount for any of the films they developed during their time with the studio, such as Transfomers .
Their new pay formula will not apply to Transformers 2 , which Paramount will release next year, but could apply to a third instalment in the series. The first Transformers generated more than $500m at the global box office.
Paramount will not be obliged to make any DreamWorks films if it does not believe they will be financially viable and is likely to weigh up the immense cost of developing a Spielberg film against his track record and huge popularity with global audiences.
But Mr Spielberg's lucrative arrangement, which is similar to other arrangements enjoyed by other A-list producers, such as Jerry Bruckheimer, illustrates the clout he continues to wield in Hollywood.
While the relationship between Paramount and DreamWorks was a financial success, Mr Geffen and Brad Grey, Paramount's chairman, clashed repeatedly.
The breakdown in relations ultimately triggered Mr Spielberg's decision to look elsewhere for funding.
DreamWorks declined to comment, but Paramount issued a statement saying
it had "waived certain provisions from the original deal to clear the way for the DreamWorks principals and their employees to join their new company without delay".
Paramount was ailing when it bought DreamWorks but has beefed up its creative output in the years since it bought the company.
"It gave us a solid slate of films to fill out our line-up, a valuable catalogue we were able to monetise, and a development pipeline that will bear fruit for us for years to come," the company said.
The deal "jump-started" Mr Grey's rebuilding plans for Paramount.
It has several blockbusters in the pipeline, including a new version of Star Trek from JJ Abrams, who created Lost .
The next task for Mr Spielberg and Mr Geffen will be to strike a deal with another studio to distribute their future films.
The two men have a long-standing relationship with Universal Studios, which is seen as the most likely candidate for a distribution deal.
