well, you can't make that decision based upon that reason, but don't you guys all feel fewer people on Gov payrolls means the economy will get worse?

Sure. But only a "conservative" would chose keeping a person in harms way on foreign soil as the means of "helping" that person.

Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.
http://www.cnn.com/2012/04/17/politi...html?hpt=hp_t1 Bet President Obama is furious about this. $800K wasted, for that kind of money Dept of energy could have propped up a solar panel company for another week or two, before it inevitably died.
With GSA now dirty, I believe every agency has been shown to be corrupt. Sad.

Surely not a certain minor off-shoot of the department of commerce.

Credit this Randian with some decency. Given the rate at which returning vets commit crimes, many of his brethren would argue it's best to bring them all back, so we might incarcerate thousands in privately run jails, where they can provide revenue streams for investors.

Sometimes, when all the facts are in, it's worse.

Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.
Ronald Dworkin:
Quote:
|
If the Court does declare the act unconstitutional, it would have ruled that Congress lacks the power to adopt what it thought the most effective, efficient, fair, and politically workable remedy—not because that national remedy would violate anyone’s rights, or limit anyone’s liberty in ways a state government could not, or be otherwise unfair, but for the sole reason that in the Court’s opinion our constitution is a strict and arbitrary document that denies our national legislature the power to enact the only politically possible national program. If that opinion were right, we would have to accept that our eighteenth- century constitution is not the enduring marvel of statesmanship we suppose but an anachronistic, crippling burden we cannot escape, a straitjacket that makes it impossible for us to achieve a just national society.
