Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.

GOP platform supports affirmative action to ensure minority representation -- if the minority is Republicans in Washington, D.C.

Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.

Fallows on the Post Truth Convention Speech.

I've been thinking about this for a while. All politicians shade things in their favor, and will even tell lies if they think they can get away with it. The notable difference in this election cycle is that Romney/Ryan are operating under the proposition that being "caught" in a lie really doesn't matter. If it resonates with people who want to believe it, that's what's important - so tell it anyway. As Fallows put it, the bad development here is that "a major party's nominee for national office apparently just doesn't care that he is standing in front of millions and telling easily catchable lies."

Might work, too. We'll see.

Ryan has been a bullshit artist for a while, but is getting a different sort of scrutiny now that he's on the ticket.

Hoisted from Twitter

GOP hasn't won an election without a Nixon or Bush on the ticket since 1928.

do you think Obama should have the founders of Solyndra do a commercial where they admit they'd be nowhere w/o gov money?

I don't normally respond to the same post twice, but, in a parallel vein, no political division intended, the dems haven't elected a pres since the same time who wasn't crippled, either physically, morally or mentally.

To be fair and balanced, the same can be said of either party.

You're hoping Thurgreed doesn't read? Or you're cool with the Bell Curve implications?
