Normally, anybody who cares knows within hours anyway. But in this case, by the time he regains consciousness this evening and stumbles through the piles of empty cider bottles, half-eaten pasties, and vomit, he will have forgotten the events of Wednesday in their entirety, and will get to turn on the Tivo and relive the drama and joy (however fleeting it will prove to be) again.

The tournament lasts a good part of the year and supposedly determines the best club soccer team in Europe. It's a big deal.*

Barcelona is widely regarded as one of the best teams in the last 50 years. They won Champions league two years ago, and were in the semifinals last year. A good hunk of their players play on the Spanish national team, which won the World Cup three years ago and the Eruopean championship five months ago. Barcelona also has Lionel Messi, an Argentine who is often compared to Michael Jordan when soccer fans try to explain him to American non-soccer fans.

Celtic, on the other hand, was just happy to be there. Celtic's victory yesterday literally made grown men cry .

A regular poster on this board (who I think has departed permanently) has outted himself as a Celtic fan, and I imagine he is probably still recovering from the shock/alcohol poisoning.

*If you care about association football, also known as soccer.

				Re: Stuck on Repeats

Apparently my rapid progress is a thing of the past. This may be as good as it gets in terms of "recovery." I mean, I can still change (hell, anyone can change), it will just be a lot of work. My therapist said that was a good one-line summation of therapy. So I guess I will want/need to think about what all I want to change from how I am currently. Maybe more snark.

Your snark, as my good friend Anything That Moves likes to say, is part of your charm.

Sorry to hear that your progress seems to be slowing. I was thinking about you Tuesday night. It doesnt seem possible that it has been four years. |

				Life imitating schtick, plus hockey.

I saw a dude wearing a sweatshirt with a "Big Ed" embroidered name tag. If I had not been with a new client, I would have taken a picture to share with all y'all.
Of interest to the two other hockey fans here, I offer this gem via the delightful Katie Baker. Enjoy. http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-tr...dy-it-deserves
Apropos of nothing, Robyn has good hair. Carry on. |
