bullshit. you implied, if not said, that people who don't vote deserve corrupt and incompetent government, i.e. their governors have carte blanche to abuse them and rip them off. With all sincerity, I would fire you if I was your boss.

No, I said that the political system is effective at giving people what they voted for, NOT what they deserve. I don't think you quite understand how much of my day is spent aligning What The People Have Said They Want with another, apparently contradictory, Thing The People Have Said They Want. It's my job and every time you don't read about my clients it means I have done it well. When you DO read about them, well, I guess you'll never know what I advised them and whether they followed it.

But by all means run for office, Less.

ETA I thought you were a self-described First Amendment absolutist? So much for that, I guess.

Fellas, fellas. You're both special and pretty. There are many things to get upset about in this world. Inequality, wholesale loss of privacy, taxes. I think I speak for all of us when I say that when it comes down to it, we all more alike than different. And in that spirit, I say, "Fuck You Hank," from the bottom of my heart.

Hank, the "not" and "but" are unnecessary as well.

Still, good work.

Not if jt means I have to deal with dissembling employees like you. Go back and read what you actually wrote - to quote "People get the government they ask for." Ultimately, your clients are those people, and you justify screwing them because you dont respect their indifference. Yet, as a public servant, you should be doing your best despite their ennui, not justifying malfeasance.

to be fair, and for that matter to minimize the chilling effect on an already dead board, my original post spoke of the policy decisions made by elected officials. I don't recall seeing "Grinch is the One!" campaign signs last time in the area.

Oh, I get it. This is just another example of "If you believe A then you must also believe B because all the imaginary people in my head who believe A also believe B." So no amount of my disputing that I believe B will do any good, because the people in your head have your full attention. Good luck with that.

I will take that as an admission that you are unwilling, as, an employee of the people, to admit my points. Plus, we will ignore your fallacy that these people "asked" for anything. These are people who did not vote, i.e. they did not "ask" for anything. In sum. It appears that you are a technocrat who despises the people he works for. Unfortunately, they are getting a government they do not deserve: yours.

Apparently I do evil by defending the acts of a recently elected or re-elected government when it does "evil," but I'm not allowed to use election results to clue me in to what is evil and what is good. Because apparently those things are known and obvious — apparently better known and more obvious when you're in the armchair.

Would it calm the hyenas to know that if someone commits an honest-to-god crime, it's not my role to defend that person, but rather the job of the criminal defense bar, who are strangely unscathed in this discussion of enabling evil and allowing it to go unpunished?

Actually, when I say people get the government they ask for, they're getting top-notch services from my jurisdiction, as evidenced by our astronomical housing prices. Your jurisdiction is entirely your problem.

People say they want a government of laws, not men, and then "technocrat" is somehow an insult? Bite my shiny metal ass.

This is an apology, a justification and an admission of accepted suckitude, corruption incompetence and failure. Plus, your analogy fails because there is no market for someone doing a better job than the DMV. PDs often do a great job at less pay than shitty DAs. Etc. But the atttude that - you didn't vote - we can fuck you one way from tomorrow is, well, disconcerting from a public employee.

Nice semantic attempt, mostly showing that you cannot fairly address what you originally said and meant, to back and fill further degrading your credibilty to the audience. Free advice - NEVER appear in front of an appellate court.

it's 2 am, (or 3) where you're at? AG gets too much shite here. He didn't say anything that justifies what you are posting. Hate on me, if you need to hate. Look at flinty, no one is bothered by him.
