A Dr. Seuss tribute:
Oh, the lawsuits that will come
V gubmints that ignore Covid-21
Oh, the lawsuits you will see
As we all learn about sovereign immunity

The Coronavirus defense to contract enforcement is going to make a fine muddy mess out of a whole lot of breach suits coming out of this.

Agree with the sell short but disagree that Wall Street is buying. I think Wall Street is propping it up to sell it back to main street.

Don't forget all the insurance claims and lawsuits over business interruption and force majeure.

Lots of small investors trying to buy on the bounce?

Yup. The big kids are freaked. They need another 2000 points, which they’ll get post-stimulus approval, to get out.
Buy in is still 17,000.

The business interruption policies seem solid. Property has to be damaged in most, and pandemics and terrorist acts are exclusions.
The argument contamination will work strikes me silly. Fumigation covers that.
I see a lot of lawsuits on blended fees by shitball lawyers grabbing some of the last dollars of small and mid-sized companies, but I’d be shocked to see many winners.
I made and was paid on a BI claim years ago, but we had serious property and equipment damage from a freak occurrence. And even then it was tough.

What's really funny is when someone writes and demands a response to their letter today or they will be forced to seek Court intervention.
I guess writing back and saying 'Court is closed, dickwad." could get me sanctioned. Eventually.

I have a rock-thrower on a case right now. Dumb counterclaim threats. I’m like, “Dude, I’m fucking dealing with people losing their livelihoods. Existential shit. File whatever the fuck you like. We’ll deal with it in 2021.”
ETA: You can’t get in trouble for anything right now. We get another 75 degree day, I’m going to fuck my wife in the front yard.
Well, she might not be up for that...

I had a call with someone yesterday who, during the call, sent me a draft complaint and said on the call they'd be filing it Friday if I didn't do what they want.
Yeah, dude, threaten to shoot me with your fingers. Go ahead.

Can't even buy S&P puts or borrow S&P shares to short.
