It ended in a very bad way, with an explicitly partisan Supreme Court decision. But it did end.

Gore was a grown up, and there would have been significant continuity on almost all fronts. We all know the discontinuity on the national security front may have played a role in the government missing signals about 9-11, we all know the excesses of Bushes tax and economic policies and the laxness of his regulatory policies (and possibly also the laxness of Clinton's regulatory policies) contributed to the recession at the end of his term. And that's not even getting into Iraq II, which had a lot to do with Bush's Daddy Issues and little to do with sound foreign policy. Of course Gore would have made some mistakes, too, but Bush made some pretty big ones.
My firm’s Arthrex win at the Federal Circuit is set for argument at the Supreme Court March 1. Understand, the shop I run appears at the Supremes. Listen to me when I try to educate?
Have any of the libs Justices EVER not voted lockstep? No. Yet libs talk about the partisan Conservatives, who often drift. Silly silly argument.

Again Buddy Brett issued my side (plaintiffs) the best decision in the history of Torts. It made Palsgraff look like Sharia law.

Cool, and against the narrative that Ty and his Qanon fellow travelers painted of the b. But my son blocked a guard’s shot in a Hs game, and the kid made the NBA, for a minute, but still.

Still, my son blocked a shot before the kid was in the NBA, not after. Something to brag about, but......

You know, you're responding to a post where I said I didn't want to talk about the substance of this, and said other stuff. Instead of responding to what I did want to talk about, you keep talking about Florida. I'm just going to assume you agree with the rest of my post, but I'm happy to have that conversation if you have something to say.

The conservatives and the liberals alike vote in a non-lockstep manner on most of what the Court does, which is non-partisan. The partisan cases are a really small fraction of its work.

As a FWD, my kid shut down a first-pair NHL D man for a full HS season.

I suspect he did order the military, or at least suggest it in his mobster speak, and was told know. There's going to be some interesting testimony at some point in the future.

Yeah, probably a number of deaths.

But it's also worth noting, the guy with the zip cuffs was a bartender from TN who was dumb enough to bring his mother, sans mask, to the riot, which led to his swift arrest: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...dentified.html

These people were morons.

Twenty years ago, their anti-democratic theories involved the federal courts. This year, when they lost in the federal courts, that didn't stop them. Democracy doesn't die all at once, but in steps.

Which is not to say that the damage he's done is fatal. It's up to us, now.
Agreed.

The biggest problems with the election and the process were (i) the Brooks Brothers Riot, in which Republicans used threats of violence to stop a count and (ii) the decision in the Supreme Court, which is a partisan piece of trash.

All other issues in that election are secondary.
