Add the 310 to that list.

Re: Election 2010: Teabaggin' the Ds & Rs
The Senate's rules really need to be fixed. This is absurd.

I thought they'd already voted to close most of the used car dealers?
Aren't they just going to get UAW jobs?

Do you really think the Tea Party Party is going to get constructive any time soon? The only thing they hate more than the Dems are the Rs who work with the Dems.

Scott Brown distanced himself from the Tea Party in a hurry and has made a couple moves across the aisle already. Once they get into DC, they reform toward the center. DeMint's the only Orthodox (perhaps Hasidic) tea partier in the chamber.

What about Coburn?
And DeMint's just an idiot.
Scott Brown wasn't a bona fide TP'r in the first place.

Thune is sucking up to the tea party like crazy.
We've learned over the years that the Rs value their radical right hard core supporters vastly more than their middle of the roaders. They'll continue to play to them.

What I think will be more interesting than any post election bizarreness from tea parties is voters' reactions when they get gridlock and business nevertheless continues to hoard cash and refocus on emerging markets abroad. Jack Welch has a point about HCReform being a goddamned economic abomination. But aside from that, all this bullshit about "uncertainty" caused by Obama is that and not much more. Business is investing abroad because it can find profits there it won't find here, and the real uncertainty here isn't what Obama or a titular twit like Warren might do. The uncertainty is that we're turning into an insolvent country. People are still running to our debt because its the most dependable, seemingly safest form around. But even China's pulling back on its Treasury buys (10% decrease). That trend can accelerate awfully fast, and with it, we'll get the mother of all crises.
I want to know what happens in 2012 when voters realize neither party can, to borrow from that terrible SNL skit, "fix it!"

Coburn has reached across the aisle. Not much, but he has done so. DeMint's the only sorched earth, fuck-them-even-if-in-so-doing-you-fuck-yourself-a-little nut.

The party will play them like it plays pro-life loons. The same way the Dems play the DailyKos arseholes.

SoDak is a near perfect (Repub) polity for the TP'rs--just so long as the Gub'mint keeps its hands off of farm subsidies and ethanol requirements. And doesn't let that cheap Brazilian ethanol get dumped on the USA. And keeps funding highway repair. And stays out of Indian and public lands issues. You know, all of the big libertarian issues.
