3 or 4 times a week, i receive a suggestion. We send it to Korea to have a mock up prepared. If the avatar shows promise at that point, I upload it into a tweak of the Sims 4 I made to see how it's accepted, then in front of focus groups, etc. until it eventually debuts here.

I had to move to this because of the weird feedback some of the avatars attracted, like when I used the Hitler one everyone* just ignored me, or when I use the Bea Arthur, wonk sends me dirty pms; the Police man- Thurgreed rails at me all the more. It's not as simple as it looks.

*everyone but Flinty. Flinty is nice to me when I have the hitler avatar up. wonder Why? rhetorical

 | This outsourced development and foreign test-marketing process helps explain why Chinaski is so popular in Singapore and Paris, but so underappreciated here.

It also helps Sidd deal with the aftershocks from seeing Hank's jpeg showing up in his recent read of Le Monde . |

You may not be able to attend Harvard, but now at least you can wear the clothes.

University fashion ranges typically consist of nothing more than scratchy jumpers and polo shirts emblazoned with a crest and the wearer's comedy nickname. But Harvard, the oldest university in the United States, does things differently.

Founded in 1636, the university's alumni include Barack Obama, John F Kennedy and Franklin Roosevelt.

Now Harvard is offering a range of clothes to match its image.

The collection, Harvard Yard, is named after the park at the centre of the campus, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It is made up of preppy American classics – think tailored chinos, Liberty prints, short-sleeved check shirts, striped blazers, waistcoats, knitwear, coats and loafers.

The pieces will not, however, be emblazoned with the university logo. Instead the institution's colour, crimson, will feature as subtle trim on button holes and zips. Prices are out of reach of most students, starting at $165 (£99) for a pair of trousers, and going up to $495 for a coat.

Inspired by pictures of students lounging in Harvard Park in the 60s, the range taps into the current vogue for preppy fashion that has seen UK brands like Jack Wills doing well despite the recession.

John Fowler, the creative director of the line, said: "It's a style that has become current again and not just with the American consumer. We think Harvard Yard will have global appeal."

Harvard has signed a 10-year licensing deal with the garment manufacturer Wearwolf Group.

Jeffrey Wolf, the firm's executive vice-president, told the online fashion site WWD.com: "We thought Harvard had a rich and authentic connection to this particular style."

The brand plans to expand into womenswear and childrenswear later.
