Thanks for the input. I never drive in/into the city (train to/from). And while the third row isn't necessary, there are certainly plenty of times when the neighbor and I will throw all four kids into one car, which is nice (and not do-able without the third row).

Is the absence of a third row a non-starter? Personally, I think an excuse not to have 4+ kids in the car is a positive.
