In our world, private loans are de rigueur. As I said in my initial post, everyone (family, close friends, even my [non-OM] ex) gave me a hard time about going to a third party lender before I spoke to the LMA.

I still think I was right to be independent from him, while everyone else (including him) thinks I am an idiot.

He can give me money. We don't have a relationship to compromise.
