Reading these posts has made me realize that I don't think I've ever seen a Paul Newman movie. Seriously, I can't think of any. That's kind of messed up, isn't it?

Yes! Paul Newman was sexy, sexy, sexy.

I would recommend that you see The Sting first -- it's a great period piece (set in the 1930s), funny, and well-written/acted. Definitely some twists and turns -- it's like a Donald E. Westlake novel in its combination of humor and mystery. Plus, the Scott Joplin music is great.

Alternatively, if you have any appreciation for, or tolerance of, Westerns, Butch Cassidy is a good choice, too. Written by William Goldman (who wrote the delightful novel The Princess Bride, and the movie version, too, I think), it is a most enjoyable flick, yet it has some deeper themes running though it as well.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

I think a ven diagram would help here. They are different and may contain members that are not shared, but the overlap between the two categories is not insignificant.

really? when I see old time actresses, I can appreciate they may be very pretty, but truly sexy? For some reason I don't see that, and I'm not sure if it is the dress and body shapes of those times, or the fact that i know they're in a grave somewhere, or 80. I think it is mostly the later.

I read The Princess Bride and really enjoyed it, but Goldman is kind of an ass, isn't he? Still, I will Netflix The Sting. And maybe Nobody's Fool, although I want to read the book first.

Cool Hand Luke is a brilliant movie and one that can't be turned off if you're flipping through channels. Absolutely brilliant.

I loved The Sting too, even though the bad guy is an over-actor. It actually fits with the era and genre, though, I suppose.

According to wikipedia, "in the pilot episode of Cheers, the movie is named the "Sweatiest Movie Ever" by general consensus of the denizens of the bar."
