You are the first person I've heard who didn't like it. It's one of my favorites. There are specific tracks I don't like as much as others, but those are usually ones where I'm lukewarm on the corresponding Handel piece as well. I think there is only one where I like the Handel but not the Soulful version.
Tell me you at least liked the tracks "For Unto Us a Child is Born," "But Who May Abide The Day of His Coming/For He Is Like A Refiner's Fire**" and "Hallelujah"
