I have Princess Bride already (but on TAPE!!).

And why I would buy rather than rent? Because there are no video rental places anywhere near me, and the library has a pretty lame selection.
Netflix?

Which is a lovely segway-way into my query. I need to buy some movies that are good, but that are appropriate for kids and their parents. You know, crowd pleasers. So far, my list is woefully short, as it includes only Groundhog Day and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

HELP ME, FB!
My DVD library. I counted a dozen that would work before the end of the second page, so I got sick of listing them. I decided to link the whole list instead. I think it's up to date.

I particularly wanted to highlight Clue, though. Awesome movie that stands the test of time, and kids find funny.

Man, that sounds pretty valuable. Makes me feel bad that I already gave mine away! Good news, though, is Flinty has some definite upside if he'll just embrace the entrepreneurial spirit.

careful wonk, only flower can do this "repeat the same post three or four times" thing, and only then because he admits he isn't as funny as he was in 2003. You are as funny as you were in 2003 so I'm just saying, be careful is all.

Mystery comedies are a good idea. Also for nine and up, consider "Murder by Death" (something about Eileen Brennan in a murder mystery spoof) which I contend is better than "Clue," especially for the adults who will enjoy the send-up of famous movie detectives. Also fond of "The Private Eyes," another early '80s mansion house mystery comedy with Tim Conway and Don Knotts.

Murder By Death is wonderful, silly stuff.

I remember enjoying High Anxiety when I was a kid, but not getting any of the Hitchcock references.

Come to think of it, most Mel Brooks would be good for kids.

a former Miss USA who did TV and then soft core has her first hardcore coming out soon www.kelliusa.com it might be a good cautionary tale for the little girl about getting too caught up in how she looks and what boys think of her. might just keep her in school.
