This stuff happens a lot with me. I've discovered fleece pullovers, shirts, jeans, etc... I'd thought I'd lost months after buying replacements. I have two tuxedo shirts because I forgot I owned one. My wife hates this. I forgot to show up for a challenged speeding ticket a month ago, then didn't pay the fine and got a bill and a warning about an arrest warrant sent to my home recently. It's terrible. I seem to allocate things by "Revenue producing," "Fun/Interesting," "Non-Revenue Producing" and "Administrative." The latter two I utterly ignore.

Have to pay $300 in fees for failing to take continuing legal education classes this month. Yeah, I lose a lot of stuff.

Except sunglasses. And good shoes. I don't lose those.
I once lost a pair of panties in the FIJI house. But that's a whole different kind of story.

In your case, "different" equals "better."

I am still mourning the loss of an irreplaceable necklace my grandmother brought back from a trip to Israel, left behind in the Hyatt Regency in Miami 24 years ago. Sniff.

Which reminds me -- there is an unclaimed pair of shoes around the house and I have no idea who they belong to. Who leaves without shoes?
My ex-husband lost a pair of pants once. One day they were in the closet and the next time he went to get them, they were not there. It was odd.

I had plenty of real jewelry as a kid. Most of it was silver (and I lost 95% of it). We also have extended family in Brazil. A lot of colored gemstones are mined in Brazil and good deals can be had there.

ETA: We moved when I was in second grade. When we went back for a visit a few months later, I remember stopping by my old elementary school. A teacher gave me back an amber necklace I had lost there. I think I promptly lost it again because I don't remember what happened to it after that.

Now that I think about it, I have most of my stuff from childhood sitting in my jewelry boxes, including a signet ring that had belonged to my great-grandmother which I wore for about 10 years, but I am still angry at myself about that necklace.

My aunt, who had the same initials as I and as her mother, gave me when I was in fourth grade a gold initial ring that had belonged to my grandmother. I still vividly remember taking it off for gym class, and vividly remember rushing back to the gym when I realized I'd left it behind.

I still wish it'd been there when I returned.

I do not wear a ring when I play(ed) basketball. I bare a scar from someone else who did, and I learned my lesson. I am nothing but caring for others.

At my health club I would take my wedding ring off to play ball. One day I lost it. It was hard to explain to the wife why I wouold remove the ring, but we have a trusting relationship.

The cute desk clerk who handled the lost and found, and handed the ring back to me? I could see she thought I had removed it to troll for dates.

Technically, he's now just an SMU jd student who couldn't be more of a douchebag. Still, he has "...a pretty solid resume, you should look."

If I'm reading the last lines correctly, he's not even an SMU JD student. He's a withdrawn SMU JD student who couldn't be more of a douchebag.

And a douchbag who is apparently unaware that future potential employers do Google searches on applicants to look for stuff like this.
