I bet they do.
Just like when Canadians get mad when only people from the U.S. are described as Americans. Right, gwnc?

Why would the Canadians get mad about that? I mean, we live in America. It's the A in the US of A! Anyway, these days, the Canadians get more upset when they are described as Americans. The whole "less likely to get kidnapped while traveling abroad" thing has given our neighbors to the north the one thread of superiority to cling to that they have needed for years.

Agreed, you superbly cite the rationale for my frequent touting of my honourary Canadian citisenship (conferred in 1995, by the by). Bravo old chap! Well played indeed.

I would think they would be more upset by being characterized by British ambassador Lord Moran as:
Quote:
|
"One does not encounter here the ferocious competition of talent that takes place in the United Kingdom... anyone who is even moderately good at what they do — in literature, the theatre, skiing or whatever — tends to become a national figure.”

I will not claim to understand the thought processes of America, Jr.

I'm a little uncomfortable with the "America, Jr." metaphor. It makes it seem like Canada is our child, whereas I like to think of Canada as the quirky, inebriated cousin. You know, not someone you'd want around all the time, but fun at weddings and helpful when you need to score a little weed.

That sounds just like Hank's son. I stand by the metaphor.

Lovely city. I have not been in a few years. Some friends did the BC Bike Race this summer, but I think they were to focused on surviving that to partake in all the amenities that Vancouver has to offer.

I asked some of my tall lesbian friends. they said some of those girls are straight, some bi some lesbian, but all probably view someone like you as too short for them, regardless of your gender. Sorry.
