Don't think so. But then again I try to stay out of the malls from the Monday after Thanksgiving until after Christmas so I probably miss a lot if the places where people would feel inclined to "Merry Christmas" this early.

the only bitch I ever had is one you and sidd point to in different ways- Season 1 and 2 it was a dark drama. He lived by his rules and he was super careful. Last season it started to move to being a cartoon, and this season it became full blown. It's a good cartoon, and really fun to watch, but his rules are out the door- I mean Season 1 Dexter would probably kill Season 4 Dexter-
he used to kill those that were getting away with murder. this season he killed his second innocent- and that I actually think was no big deal- But killing the guy where he fucked up the testimony was way outside any level of caution. then, trinity wanted to kill himself AND DEXTER SAVED HIM? worse, the cops would have caught Trinity- the code would say he isn't a proper victim then. Instead Dexter kills a trucker that maybe killed someone a decade ago to send the cops in the wrong direction?
and actually that isn't even the stuff that makes it cartoon-like: he shows up in trinity's life- he almost kills trinitiy in his kitchen in front of the guy's family- what does he think'll happen once trinitiy goes missing? any suspects the family might sketch out for the police?
and now the crying mug of Dexter morgan will be on TV as the anguished victim- Think Trinity's family might recognize him?
that's my bitch. still, i'll watch next season. but the first few seasons set me up to say, "cmon Dexter wouldn't do that." cuz I remember that old Dexter.
|
I agree. They've definitely gotten a little loose with his rules--and there are really two categories of rules, right? The first being his dad's overall rules (make sure the person you kill is guilty, etc.). The second being the don't get caught rules. I almost went crazy when Dexter had the retrieve the tape from the docks out of the police room back when Lundy was on his tale (season 3?). No way Dexter would be so careless that he would allow himself to be filmed carrying bodies to his boat. Now, it seems he's careless all the time. Going after Trinity in the garage in broad daylight? Sneaking out of camp grounds in the middle of the night? Engaging the family of the serial killer he's tracking? Not a fucking chance.
But Dexter won't be on tv when they discover his wife is a victim of the Trinity Killer. Plus that family will be out of Miami. Trinity is in Belize for all they know and Dexter already said he would get them the money. But they're not going to stick around that house waiting for him to come back. The son already suggested they run. But maybe the writers do something with that next season. Maybe the son finds out about Dexter and Dexter has to deal with that. Might be good. But I bet the family gets whitewashed in episode 1.
Either way, I bet they get back to the darkness next season. I even thought Dexter might relocate. He'd be great in NYC or LA. How many frickin' serial killers are there in Miami, anyway?

I've seen it online, but I haven't seen it in person. 'course, I tend to say "Merry Christmas" to pretty much everyone, regardless of religious affilation, so the warriors don't have much beef with me.

I can't imagine you wouldn't like it. The wife didn't want to watch because she didn't think it was her kind of show either when I tivo'd it Season 1, but it quickly became her favorite show. I understand your solidarity issue, but you're definitely missing out.

No. Just a conversation with Hall and Lithgow about the season that just ended, their characters and where they think Dexter's character might go based on what happened. I don't think the writers have even done anything yet and if they have, they didn't tell Hall anything, judging from that interview.

We know a few tibetan buddhists who "celebrate" christmas in typical commercial fashion.
If the warriors want to fight the happy holidays thing, they are misplacing their wrath. They need to bring down santa claus and all of his non-christian trappings.

Indeed. "Here to help" is my middle name; although having said that I am fan of both Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast and endourse their hold/drink now recommendations. another good source is the wine maker's websites; many smaller producers have separate insites/opinions on how long to hold their wines.
By the by, champagne tasting tonight! cheers!

Given the namby pamby tree hugging granola munching head up the arse nature of the local populace here, I don't say nothing to no one; although having said that in my head to myself I think "I hope you all rot in hell! Hum bug!"; although having said that Happy happy to all of all y'all!!!

I've never seen one of those Christmas trees. I understand the concept but don't think I'd want one.
While I was trying to follow the links to see where those are sold, I came across something more suited to this board. Or maybe the cooking board.

But the warriors are fighting to protect the typical commercial fashion.
I don't mind the MC in general, but I do get offended by MC aggression from friends or people in service industries who should know better.
I think I will adopt the sitcom Community's greeting of "Merry Happy," which would only offend the morose, those suffering from seasonal affective disorder, and the Santa warriors.

You not only people who are MC-aggressive, but they actually impose it on you more than once?
And by "people in service industries" you mean professionals, or people who make $10/hour or less? Because if you mean the latter, I think you're giving them a bit too much credit, at least as an undifferentiated class.
ps: I don't really give a shit either way, tho if I dealt with MC-aggressiveness regularly, I'd probably start responding obnoxiously.
