No, no, no... When you do the "Go back and pull an obscure fact from the dialogue" thing to create a cute joke, you can't use the one at issue in the most immediate exchange.

You have to dig deeper, and I say this in kindness and as a friend, as concession of cleverness would all but eliminate the thin thread of amusement that rescues the shtick from tediousness.

Only where PF was mostly amusing, well written gibberish (outside Sam Jackson's character, who made a few points), the dialogue in IB is used to create extreme discomfort and tension that keeps you on the edge of the seat. And it's not hype - the guy who plays the head villain deserves an award.

My only problem with it was Tarantino's use of Western, Disco and dissonant orchestral waves reminiscent of There Will be Blood all in one movie. Too many disparate styles there at once, IMO.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. I don't think I have ever seen that head villain in anything else before -- he had sort of a familiar yet unfamiliar face.

The pasty is preposterous. We all have nipples. If the rest of the breast is appropriate for exposure, I'm struggling to find a reason the female nipple should be uniquely excluded from the party.

ETA: If the law were at all logical, it would dictate that the female nipple is the only part of the breast allowed to be exposed and that the bulbous remainder of it, which is what makes it different from the male's otherwise similar anatomy, should be covered. This would lead to some odd swimwear and cumbersome evening attire, no doubt, but it would be consistent. The current law is ripe for constitutional challenge, IMHO.
