The explorer takes a deep breath and they trudge on. As the jungle gets thicker and denser, and dusk starts to fall, the drums continue, pounding louder, ever closer. The explorer asks again, “Are you sure those drums are okay… nothing to be afraid of? It sounds like they’re getting louder.”

“No. no worry. Drums very good. Confidence! They continue on.

As night falls and they start to break camp, the drums become even louder, more intense. The explorer cannot shake a sense that they spell impending doom, but his guide continues to reassure him: “Drums very good!”

Then, just as darkness settles most completely over the jungle, the drums suddenly stop. The guide’s face goes ashen! A sheer look of terror in his eyes!

The explorer asks, “What? What’s the matter? The drums stopped – is that bad?”

The guide responds, “When Drums stop, very bad! Awful! Terrifying! Bad thing coming! No good for anybody!”

“What!? What is it? What happens after the Drums stop!?!”

The guide responds: “Bass solo.”

Don't even know where to start...

So as a heads up, I'm going to be randomly responding to few posts over the last 3 weeks or so. Out of order. Whatever.

Trump is going to win the popular and lose the Electoral College. It is rigged, but the low level nefarious district stealing won't affect anything at the Presidential level.

"So what?"

You think Hillary is above the rule of law. And that the rule of law should be disregarded if politically expedient for people "you" like. Perhaps BLM is correct - if you're white and rich enough, no one cares about your crimes. Even as the body count stacks and the millions get disclosed.

Cool. I'm glad you're on record for this.

I'd suggest that you, as an officer of the court, should be disbarred for such slackish (if not anarchist) views towards our legal system.

Who am I kidding, when Hillary takes over Oceania, I'm fucked.

His runs were pathetic. Made Jeb's debacle this year look good in comparison.

Now, granted, he had eight years serving as a strong VP to a strong President, and used that time very well. He may be the second-most liked person in the Democratic Party today. More likely than Bill.
Strong President? Nevermind - different thread. Biden actually polls a lot higher than Obama, so who would be this #1?

Quote:
But he's smart enough to know that while he is pretty damn impressive in office he's only kind of so-so on the campaign trail.
And yet, better than Hillary. She only gains points when she hides for days on end.

Quote:
Could he have crushed Hillary and Bernie? I don't know. Hillary is not great on the stump, [DUDE!!!] but she is a very keen strategist, and might well have put Bernie and Biden in a position where they were splitting each others votes. And Bernie IS a very good campaigner, even if he sucks as a legislator, and might well have beaten Biden in a one-on-one.
There was that month where the Dem/Left powers that be were practically begging Uncle Joe to jump in - and whether he was paid off or what not - we wont know for a while. However, his positive marks are so much higher, that this election wouldn't even be an issue if he was running. I personally think Biden is a dunce and an inappropriate gropey old guy, but I certainly don't think he's a corrupt felon like Clinton. Many Republicans would not be voting against Biden, so to speak.

Quote:
We'll never know, but I wouldn't assume he'd have had a cakewalk.
FBI is still investigating the Foundation and the Guccifer racket has promised more emails. Odds are low, but don't discount Uncle Joe riding in on a white horse.

As I wrote, and I believe Ty agreed, no one in the Dem party had the balls to challenge the Queen Clinton, other than the rumpled pretend Socialist Larry David wannabe.

As the exposed emails made clear (i) they referred to Hillary as the "Nominee" before she even announced - fix in, yeah probably; (ii) As Bernie is concerned, he.was.not.a.Democrat. Yeah, the emails show the fix was in (proving him correct), but...but...he's not a Democrat. Call me crazy, but why SHOULD the DNC help a usurper of their party? I get both sides of this one - and pass the popcorn. The more emails that come out (and the more that Bernie disdains all those kids that sent him money), the more votes for, in order, Stein, [stay home], Johnson and Trump.

If Biden was an option early, I think he takes all the potential wind out of Bernie's sails before he even gets going.
No. Hillary goes home.

Quote:
Now, Hillary learned that a strong ground game is crucial and she's been setting that up for years. That may have been why Biden was scared off and why he may not have been prepared to actually run.
His backers told him to stay back. Too much money to be made.

Quote:
I also think he based his hemming and hawing on how Hillary was perceived as SoS generally and didn't want that kind of fight.
He could have easily thrown her under the bus. Obama despises her, and is only supporting her for his own legacy (her SoS term could ruin his entire legacy) and Michelle's political aspirations.

But I think he's looking back at his decision now and kicking himself given the ridiculous opinions people have of Hillary...
If she was a girl named [Thurgreed] or a guy named [Slave], she'd currently be in jail, perhaps for life

Right. Flyover-Land ignoramus crackers generally like old, white gropey men more than they like old, white, mean women that are married to - and publicly defend - old, white gropey men. Gotta be some hypocrisy in here somewhere.

Why do people support Trump? Interesting and depressing.

Probably I have paid more attention to the various laws governing the handling of federal email and access to federal IT systems than you have, but if that's the rule of law, it's out of Kafka. A non-slackish view towards those laws is crazy, and fortunately most prosecutors get that. Oddly, all the journalists who were so upset about Obama's so-called war on the press don't seem to have the same qualms about reporting on Hillary's email.

Again: So what? She doubtless got advice from someone that she could set up her email that way. (Bad advice.) Other lawyers different. Prosecutors with other things to do don't see a reason to pursue it.

There's a senior citizen center near my house where the speed limit drops to 25. It's posted, but most people don't slow. Disregard of the rule of law? The speed limit is posted.

That was the media, hoping for a race to cover. I know it's hard for you to tell the difference.

Hillary Derangement Syndrome runs strong in you.

Why hasn't trump responded to the NAMBLA charges? People are talking about them.

I didn't think its all that depressing.

It confirms what I've always thought - Trump's appeal is heavily to affluent whites entitled whites eager to blame other people (Hi Slave!) not to working class stiffs who are actually singing the blues in today's economy.

That's a much narrower demographic, especially in places like Pennsylvania and Michigan where some thought he'd make a showing.

I know it's cool to ignore me, or maybe there just is no way of knowing, but I fear the Bradley effect.

Maybe.

There are a lot of cross currents in the polls. But I see a lot of traditional R votes going D right now.
