Saw a man wearing a backpack with a suit as I approached the elevator lobby this morning. From behind, I thought it looked like the President of the firm, but thought, "he wouldn't be wearing a backpack with a suit." It was him.

Dude, we'll take this all day, every day.

I do not recommend visiting Newton, Iowa. Especially not after 2006.

I think he thought I was suggesting he didn't belong. Suspect he'd have been happier if I'd just left him alone.

Not to worry -- the efficiency gains that have been shared with all consumers more than make up for those losses. I'm sure voters understand that, and are bitter or anything.

Maybe. And this is the result of that happening to him constantly. But letting him know that you thought he was a client and wanted to direct him to the conference rooms is the type of mistake he is surely okay with after he got over the initial read.

If he only knew you often direct people to restaurants built on an open sewer, I'm sure he'd be happy for the conference room.

When those espousing Hipster Antitrust argue for weighing employment concentration in merger reviews, I wonder whether that deal would have gotten credit for the massiving decrease in employment concentration in and around Newton...

Just to plug a thing you don't really need me to plug because you've probably already read it, Nikole Hannah-Jones's easy in the 1619 Project: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...democracy.html

I only where my navy suit and leather back satchel when biking with dtb. In the office, all I wear is a loin cloth made of Peruvian Vicuña fur, a gold rope chain, and neon platform boots.
