I can tell you that there is certainly a "boy who cried wolf" reaction that comes up. I do not mean this against you- honest- I mean it as a true statement of how I perceived news awhile ago- during W you posted a new outrage basically every day for 8 years. The outrages were not all equal, I'm sure. But the volume made it such that I. Could. Not. Listen. I could not devote the brain power to a daily thing. Maybe 10% were actual outrages and if limited to that maybe I'd have invested?
For those people who do not read 50 political blogs each day, it becomes white noise. And for those that have a lingering doubt that maybe they should listen, an actual "fake news" helps them decide not to bother learning about other stuff.
This is fact. But believe what you want. I won't engage again on this topic.
