My wife is the "buy-one-roll-at-a-time" person.
Icky is an (during normal times) "I-am-buying-two-cases-at-Sams-Club-because-I-hate-going-there" person.
You are welcome my dear. That and 3 cases of water, two cases of beer, 20 lbs of pasta and 20lbs of rice means we are good until June.

What the fuck happened to this country?

Annnnd my Next Door has now moved from "we are all in this together" to "What the fuck are some of you doing- that's rhetorical- what you're doing is wrong!"
Normally a claim reserved for dog poop violators.

I haven't talked to the neighbors on either side from me in 12 years.

Under the best of circumstances, Nextdoor is a hellhole of judgy, cranky people. The "we are all in this together" posts that have shown up recently were a breath of fresh air.

I'm walking/running around the neighborhood a LOT these days. I've noticed that a lot of other people are too. Initially, I'd go to the park about a mile away, but that was soon too crowded to safely be able to get away from people, so I'm sticking to the residential streets.
I've noticed that everyone seems to be acknowledging each other a lot more than before times. People stop to ask about the dogs more (than usual). People smile as they pass. An older lady got off the sidewalk and into the middle of the street the other day as she saw me coming, and when we passed, she gave me a bright big smile. I think it's sort of an attempt to acknowledge that we're doing weird shit in the name of this stupid situation. And to have SOME human connection, even if fleeting.
Most of the neighborhood facebook page is dedicated to hunting down paper towels.

we are a major airport gateway into Asia and Europe so we might be a few days ahead of you?
There is a thread about whether runners should be wearing masks. Mind you this is a single family home community. I ran today and was not within 10 yards of anyone the whole time. But one poster explained "if you are out without gloves and a mask and you get the virus on your hands and then you touch a fence, and then someone else touches the fence in the same place, you've spread it." Lady might have a PhD in virology for all I know, but she doesn't understand running and the typical occurrence of a need to touch fences. I will say, that we all do agree this fence touching is wrong though.

Masks now the law in NY if you can't socially distance.
I can run and not be near anyone if I run at dawn in the middle of the street. But still old people try to walk near toward you to prove a point, albeit not a smart one, and running groups still insist on running in packs.
Still, I have been wearing a makeshift mask out of a bandanna and am looking forward to using the buffs and gaiters I just got from Amazon.
There was some concern about runners' plumes and whether the distance should be expanded for people around runners, even though the study was shown to be unscientific.
Still my mileage has taken a serious hit because I have had to cross the busy streets (even early) off my list.

Paris, new rule, you want to walk or run, before 10 or after 7. For you, do laps?
The thing that is fucking me up is fave routes are out (10 Mile road a mile of no people) because the public restrooms are all shut so I have to shift to being back near my house around the 2 mile mark (once I went twosies behind a tree on 10 Mile, but that is not a sustainable solution).

Re: Objectively intelligent.
Every day makes Richard Epstein look just a little more brilliant, to say nothing of the folks at the White House who loved his little memo.
