Vick is an awful lot like Tavaris though. A more dramatic runner, certainly, but both questionable passers.

when does Penske's suspension end? I think it was August 1.

And now that Favre (allegedly) will stay retired, you're stuck with two quarterbacks who you just finished telling they weren't as good as a washed-up, selfish, 40-yr old asshole who just had surgery on his arm. You can start thanking Brett now.

I don't believe it. Unless by "stay retired" he means " .. . .until the end of training camp or the Vikings raise their offer"

walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head
Living where I do, I can't much bitch about weather, aside from the long stretches of gray drizzle. But goddam 106 in this town is hot. Esp. without air conditioning, which a large chunk of us don't have.
And no, no matter what the motherfucking Lovin' Spoonful (hi NotBob!) told you, it's not a different world at night. 96 outside, 86 in (assuming you don't venture into the furnace that is my bedroom, upstairs). C'mon C'mon and dance all night, my ass.
On a positive note, gin & tonics taste especially good. And, with the family away at the beach, I can post nekkid (I mean I could; you know, if I wanted to).

I don't have it, and when we got home from hiding out at a friend's with AC, it was 87 on the first floor. No thermometers upstairs, but I'd bet on at least an additional 5 degrees per floor. No way I'm hitting the third floor until at least 10 pm, and even then it's doubtful.
The good news is our AC-having friends are leaving town tomorrow after dinner, and gave me their house key.

Nice. I could drive 15 minutes or so and steal my parents AC (they, wisely, are at the coast with Mrs. Ramone and the youngins). But they would probably end up bitching about my impact on their electricity bill. So I'll hang out here with the gin and tonics and the less than family friendly Pandora mix. And I'll sleep in the basement (stupid old dog insisted on sleeping upstairs last night; dogs, esp. mine, not so smart).
Down to 94 out, 84 in.

Well, you gotta know the NFL will keep Vick on a short lease.

Like I need the encouragement. But will do!
I'm close to equilibrium; 89 out, 85 in. Feeling all white trash-ish, rolling around shirtless and all. Not pantless, yet (as far as you know, anyway). Do I lose white trash cred for eating a salad for dinner (w/ grilled Oregon tuna, no less)? And the shitty glass on the Portuguese white went and cracked when I opened the bottle, too.
It's warm enough that internet porn bores me. Perhaps I should be concerned...

Here it is nigh on 1 am (I should be in bed! It'll be too hot for napping tomorrow), and it is now finally cooler out (82) than in (84). Too bad I can't close my eyes and wish myself to the weekend, when it will be back to normal summertime temps (mid-80s by day, 60 at night). Of course, after an extended heat wave, it will take a while for the house to fully cool down at night. It may be Monday before we sleep comfortably.
