And yet, I didn't hear much about that example of intrusive government action on FOX. | Perhaps I can be excused for thinking that the part I have bolded was part of your point, and not an irrelevancy? Especially given that the only clue you gave that she was in public (and not just with her group, which you expressly referenced) was "pissed a lot of people off," which for being "the entire import of [your] story" certainly left a lot open to interpretation?

Let me try: "A Customs official made a friend's adolescent daughter remove her t-shirt in line. I don't care what policy is being enforced; that should be done in private." Now the privacy aspect is the entire import of the story, and not one of several. Helpful! |

*Reminds me of the time that I (ostensibly anonymously) wrote basically all the material for the firm's April Fools news letter. While all of it was hilarious (there were jokes about one partner's sweaters! hilarity!), I was later told that several of the partner types did not particularly care for the joke about the one enigmatic partner guy whom none of the associates ever seemed to work with.

Apparently accusing him of doing nothing that any associate knows about was a little to close to accusing him of doing nothing, which was a little too close to home.

Last I heard he was still a partner though. And in my book, there is no way that pointing out that a guy brings home a million dollar plus pay check for doing nothing is a criticism.

But to those sick enough to be in the partnership at that place, it was like accusing him of fucking underage puppies in front of small children while fondling nuns and burning copies of Harry Potter. |

We are losing the war in Afghanistan and need to do something very different. Sending M-1 tanks is evidence of the problem, not an answer. So is this :

		| "Why do you have to blow up so many of our fields and homes?" a farmer from the Arghandab district asked a top NATO general at a recent community meeting.
Although military officials are apologetic in public, they maintain privately that the tactic has a benefit beyond the elimination of insurgent bombs. By making people travel to the district governor's office to submit a claim for damaged property, "in effect, you're connecting the government to the people," the senior officer said.
 | Um, right.

 .
 | That reminds me of back in the day when I invented the GreedyPacNW board on Infirm and wrote long profane diatribes about the backwater cheaparsed parochialism of the partners in Seattle, and, I ended up being the subject of more than one partner meeting at more than one firm, where the subject was stringing the mythical Penske up by my balls at the base of the Space Needle.

Now those same mutherfuckers take me out to lunch in a futile effort to one day win my business. LOL.
