Yes on Prop. 19
P.S. Prop 19 is California's Legalize It Proposition, which is trailing in the polls.

take a typical dumb poor Dem voter- he buys into "the Dem party will make your life better because we will put in programs to give you things." this is backed up by credible Dem pols saying it is so.
you might call bullshit and point out the same lies were told to the voter's poor dumb grandpa. still, it isn't completely daft to believe the Dem mantra, as it could be true.
c.f. a poor voter hearing that if only Jesus were allowed to help decide how we run the government things would be better. say if you believe that, I can't tell who is dumber, but the TP's decision to believe is the less-informed, isn't it?

The most shocking thing in the article isn't screwing up that issue. It's the idea that they're using a textbook by someone who is not trained as an historian.

The tolerance of the left
Was Juan Williams Fired Unfairly?
This is a good example of why the doctrinaire left is as bad as the doctrinaire right. NPR should lose federal funding. and so should FoxNews!

Interesting way to frame the debate. "The dummies on one side are just as stupid as the morons on the other." Yeah, sure. Can't argue with that.
What I can argue with is the fact that the other side formed a sub-party which, from almost all accounts is made up of morons who want to elect people who don't read papers, act like constitutional scholars and can't tell you what the 14th Amendment is about, can't articulate a simple thought, wear the fact that they are uneducated as a badge of honor and refuse to answer questions because their positions and ideas are so ridiculous that they cannot withstand any type of scrutiny.
But stop insulting my fucking intelligence by saying that the fact that I disagree with their message means that I think they're stupider. I base my opinions on their stupidity on the evidence they give me. From Bush, who is and was a moron who didn't understand what the fuck was going on while in office and handed power over to his asshole advisors because he didn't, to Palin who objectively doesn't know a fucking thing to O'Donnell who is even worse, they're all idiots. I disagree with everything Rove or Cheney or you say, but I don't think any of you or them are stupid.

It's not about how smart or dumb voters are, but candidates. As Sebby and I have agreed, the stupidification of the Republican party candidates is real and is a bad, bad thing.

Where does he work? If California, NPR likely violated California statute - http://volokh.com/posts/1189794796.shtml

I'm not having this argument with you, other than to point out a "safety net" that you never get out of is a web, not a net. no offense.
P.S. I've seen Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. The Dem party started because the other party wouldn't kill Indians fast enough for them. in fact they seem pretty close to TPers.

More or less informed and inherent intelligence or lack thereof are not necessarily directly correlated, except to the extent that an inherently intelligent person is probably more likely to seek to be better informed; but at a starting point I think we are both positing that there are inherently unintelligent people on both sides of the aisle, and those are the people we are talking about.

If someone wants to read some good history books by people without training, I can recommend a few.
None of them are surveys of the most current scholarship dealing with an expansive time period and broad geographic region, as a textbook generally should be. It takes years of training to know a field well enough to write a good textbook.
And it takes enough training to be able to identify a sensible source.
So, yes, it ought to be a union job. Whoever approves those textbooks needs to be fired.

well, GGG is saying come January there will be some really dumber people on "one side of the aisle". That means elected, not the ones electing.

WTF are you talking about? Everyone who collects SS is caught in a "web"?
One thing you're right about -- this isn't an "argument."
