The irony being that they were trying to protect their reputation by getting rid of someone who was getting too opinionated on Fox, thereby diminishing their journalistic integrity.

Given that Sanchez offered an apology, I am not going to defend his statements, although Stewart is incredibly biased and confuses journalism with comedy/satire and uses the latter characterization to justify biased and elitist and offensive statements. Is it funny? Sure, if it's stand up comedy. But its not, its faux journalism and he knows it. Colbert is close, but at least with him he is in character, which defines it more clearly as comedy.
Sanchez on the other hand was held to a more professional journalistic standard. Thus, his firing does not seem so equitable, and aren't equity and anti-bias big progressive lib themes....or is that only when its convenient to their issues?

Exhibit 2 that you most likely drool while typing.
Whatever Stewart is, he isn't a tool of a Jewish cabal that runs the media.

Right. He has never claimed otherwise. The funny thing is, he is about the only real journalist on tv today because those who think they aren't "satire" think that "journalism" means putting on what liar X says as long as it is followed by liar Y.
In other words, the sad state of affairs is that almost no one else is willing to say, "but isn't this true?" Which is what journalism used to be about.
Just to be perfectly clear, there is fact and there is opinion. Most of the media has forgotten the difference, leaving fact questions up to whatever wingnut comes along. We are all the worse off because of it.

That's a pretty big "on the other hand" as Sanchez was never a comedian, or even real commentator.

Congratulations, you have again succeeded in saying something totally absurd. Do you masturbate to completion each time?

Exhibit 592 that you are possessed of an incredibly naive and immature
intellect and personality and your life experience is comprised of the very insular experience of an undergraduate degree and a law degree and a few years experience as a junior associate in the incredibly dysfunctional environment of biglaw, and very little sex to offset any of that.
Further, I didn't say what you write above. I said he is biased and confuses his comedy for journalism (intentionally). I stand by that standpoint, which has nothing to do with jewish cabals controlling media, but everything to do with his personal biases.

While he may never claim otherwise, he knows what the affect of his "comedy" show is and he has become a de facto journalist, and in that role he is biased.

Further, your comment shows that you know little of progressive philosophy, concepts of equity or anti-bias. Unlike you, i am little more experienced and have worked in both right and left environments and for causes on both sides of the aisle and understand what those concepts are. Sanchez got a raw deal in that regard and got that raw deal from the left side of the aisle, which espouses the ideals that they disregarded there. You also don't appear to know much about employment law or HR, although that is not surprising as you haven't had any meaningful management experience, other than maybe a labour law class.

TM and I look alike, so I can understand why you'd confuse us.

I told you what I thought. I think idiots are emboldened and encouraged by idiot candidates and the Becks/Limbaughs/O'Reillys of the world. I think the fact that there are candidates who are succeeding because they are actively stupid (or are pretending to be dumber than they are) is amazing. I think Rove and Bush opened up a can of worms by manipulating the morons in their base to vote. Now, these morons realize they have power and want to see themselves (as opposed to intelligent candidates representing their interests) in office.
In short, I don't think the general public's collective IQ has decreased. I think the dumbest people in the Republican party have broken out on their own as Tea Partiers.

now I"m from a backward lower class town, so maybe I just know a higher percentage of the truly nuts, but i always thought I had filtered that out.

Okay. Not sure if you are telling me this because you think your HS classmates represent what is happening out there (i.e., otherwise reasonably intelligent people posting ridiculous garbage for some reason other than their reduced brain capacity) or if you just think it's weird.
Either way, people who seemed smart in HS don't necessarily continue to grow intellectually past where they were in HS. I see it all the time. In fact, some of them go the opposite way once they aren't forced to learn things. They get stuck in an unstimulating job, shelter themselves from exposure to things not related to their immediate tastes and are influenced by talk radio and the community they live in which is now empty of the people who have moved on to bigger and better things.

Honestly, you post a lot of minimal stuff that you think is just packed with meaning. But we're not in your brain and often, the steps you are taking internally to get to whatever point you think you're making are not apparent to us on the board. Think about it.

Maybe those people have other priorities. And pursuing those priorities instead of cash does not make that decision less intelligent.
