DeMint already admitted they'd raise the debt ceiling. "The Tea Party. We're Only Crazy in Theory."

I think they will actually make significant cuts at the state level, which will only be made more significant by the new Congress's refusal to give more aid to states.

Which will only make the economies in those states facing the biggest cuts all the more dismal.

Three states with biggest budget holes:

CA, IL, NY

Three states where Rs threw away chance at Guv'ship by nominating someone with even greater flaws than the D nominee:

CA, IL, NY

Three states where the Ds still control both houses of the state legislature:

CA, IL, NY

Where the Rs do slash state budget are also the states that are less in need of slashing.

At least in NY, though, I suspect Cuomo will be a better budgetary manager than any of his recent predecessors (just as in Mass., we don't have particularly severe budgetary issues, because the governor and democratic legislature have managed the state fairly well and done a fair bit of cutting where it was needed).

Though all you can say about the Democratic legislature in NY is that they probably (probably) aren't as bat-shit crazy as the Republicans and neither is as crazy as the Democratic/Republican swing votes over the last term.

And we're talking meth-fueled knife fighting crazy, not tea party crazy.

Faux "News" Report!

Once again Fox has broken the big story on the Democratic side of the aisle! How is it that they always have the inside scoop on what Dems are up to.

So apparently there is a letter going around defeated Democratic Reps asking Pelosi not to run for a leadership position. Fox has a draft. And it turns out there are so many really bullshit, upset Democrats, that no one has signed it - indeed - no one on the dem side is even owning up to having penned it, and most of the circulation among members appears to be from - you got it - Fox!!

Fox clearly has its finger on the pulse of this one! Fair and balanced!

When things like this appear in the LSM, what is the response of the Fox/Rush/etc cabal? Veiled and not so accusation like: "Did they make it up?" "Is the LSM trying to sow dissent in the R caucus?" Similar nonsense?

In case you hadn't noticed, 3G's been doing a (really, extremely poor, but reasonably likely to be intentionally so) parody based on his view of Fox reporting here lately.

I am just trying to spread the word. First, they break the big story about Obama spending a million gajillion dollars going to India - meticulously fact checked, as always. Now, the break the news that they're circulating a letter to Dems that no Dems have signed! Why don't the other outlets get these stories!

I see why people rely on nothing but Fox! I will continue to bring us some of the select stories that run only on Fox News!

Can you tell you what Fox thinks the R's should cut from the budget?

I mean, now that DeMint has taken SS cuts off the table and has said we don't need to make any of the HCR-connected cuts to Medicare. And we know that the Defense budget is sacrosanct. TIA.

Rand Paul says cuts to the military must be considered. Otherwise, a quick search of foxnews for the phrase "budget cuts" will yield mostly articles about the need to extend the bush tax cuts or face dire consquences.

And when the Aqua Buddha has a leadership position in the House R Caucus, Rand's views will count for something.

Until then, please watch FNC for me and report back here what they have beyond "waste, fraud and abuse (ex. farm subsidies, medicare)" and "hundreds of billions of administrative waste (ex. farm subsidies, medicare, military)" as options to save us.

That's ridiculous. There are plenty of reasons why something like this is not signed. Fox manufacturering the news is among the least likely.

Fox claims it is being "circulated" among the defeated Democratic reps, citing anonymous sources.

Yet when others go to check the story, defeated Democratic reps say they've only seen the letter from the press.

I have no doubt that someone, somewhere wrote the letter. And that it is now being circulated. Does Fox need more to have a scoop!

say it's true- now Fox has stopped it from being signed, and that raises the chance Pelosi gets the office. Guess what that means in 2012? obama himself should sign the thing.

If no one signed the letter or is supporting its goals, who authored and passed it around? Are you saying Fox is improperly suggesting a letter that clearly created itself out of thin air was prepared by Democrats?
