What's the relevance? He's a playah. Did you not know he's a playah. At least the Mom chose life and at least he supported the kid financially. Though I'm sure the kid would have preferred some emotional being there kind of stuff, so Ahnuld's can't be as rightous as Bristol about the whole thing.

 | If you're asking whether I care -- no. Or, only a little. He did the right thing by supporting the kid, on a personal level should have come clean with his wife earlier, and I have minimal need to judge politicians by their personal lives. I wouldn't have voted for him the first time, would have the second -- exactly what I actually did -- if I had known about this.

The aspect I do potentially care about, as with so many others, is the hypocrisy aspect. Now, Ahnold didn't posture himself as a morality or family-values candidate (cf., eg., Newt). Though he did make a big deal about how his playah days were all in the distant past. But his hypocrisy is no more than a 2 on the scale.

What interests me is how this would have affected the elections had it been known -- and how he managed not to have it widely known and reported before. You can't pretend that it would not have mattered to anyone in California, and especially in the R areas where he was most popular -- Orange County, the Inland Empire, etc. These are the conservative, so-called values voters who (for example) voted to amend our constitution to prohibit gay marriage.

Because, you know -- if gay people can marry, then straight people will start cheating on their spouses. Or something like that.

eta: Plus, of course, I'm talking about this because the PB is a little dull today. I assume you knew that.

Yeh, it's a lot more fun to pick on them when they're hypocRits. Did he really say the Playah days were past?

Well, he's free to play now. I'm expecting an uptick in STD in the greater LA area.

 | Or we could talk about Newt. Suddenly, Newt is the sane guy in the GOP. Weird.

Personally, I think only one of those has a realistic chance. But Newt certainly does not.

I also note the Romney raised a ridiculous amount of money in a day, and I've always believed that where the GOP money goes, the nomination follows. |

 | I don't think Newt has a realistic chance. But, he is smart enough (he is, really) and popular enough to have an influence on the tenor of the party. He's suddenly sounding like the voice of moderation (though only on one issue), which is astounding. And, of course, he's getting slammed for being a party-traitor.

 | Only surprised it was a household staffer and not an office staffer.

Given the Kennedy family history, I'm surprised Maria didn't make sure all the female household staff was old, ugly, fat and/or lesbian to avoid just this scenario. |
