Nor does anyone care about your single vote for the party's nominee. There will never be enough real "self expression" voters (as opposed to voters for real protest candidates like Perot or Nader) to make a difference in the popular vote.

Single vote? No single vote counts. We're talking about adding them up. And when it comes to protest votes, no. one. cares.
The combined number of people who have threatened to sit this out and those who feel the need to express themselves with a bugs bunny vote may very well be considerable this year.

I was taught, in the 8th grade, by Ms. Reynolds, who drunkenly tried to pick me up a couple years later when I was a high school sophomore, that the traditional 12-bar rhythmic structure of the blues, derived from West Africa. Of course, Ms. Reynolds may have been completely wrong. After all, she thought she saw a smoldering sophistication in a 16-year old virgin.

Really? Socialism has come to this? It's good Engels is dead and doesn't have to see this.
You know who is great at voting as self-expression? The Icelanders. Pirate Party!!!

I don't believe I ever actually said I was going to vote for Bernie. I merely said that, at a given point in time, he had some ideas I found more appealing than Hilary's on some issues I feel strongly about. If Hils can't win me over by November, my vote, which will be utterly meaningless no matter who I cast it for, down here in the belly of Southern Coastal Georgia, will be cast for either Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, or Jed Bartlett.

A few years ago, my husband was djing a Hin-jew wedding, and in his search for an appropriate version of Hava Nagila to play, he stumbled upon a poorer quality version of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdG9P1MsU5A
While the bride and groom loved it, there was fear that certain family members would blow a gasket, so he used a more traditional version.

None taken, considering the source.
And yes, TM, she was doable. Or at least she would have been had her husband not been sitting with her. Did I mention she was a drunk?

I like this thinking, but I'm not sure I can tell my daughter I'm voting for Bernie.

Why, that's dangerous. Irresponsible. Crazy. Why on Earth would any right-thinking American ACTUALLY VOTE FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IN?

I think Wonk was pointing out a distinction between music that "included" Africans and music that was "influenced by" Africans. Graceland may have been the first US hit album that included Africans, but definitely not the first influenced by....

You give me the write-in option, and I won't hesitate to use it under some circumstances.

If it's true that 70% of Sanders' supporters are being stupid like Wonk (his term), the only states in your "undeniably" category will be the solid red ones, not the blue
And if the nominee is Trump, even those states could be in play.

This was the first post that tempted me to click the link. Which led me to clicking a few of the others. Good stuff, but a little too happy for this early in the morning.

Ralph Nader 2000!
Those who continue to think that Clinton and Cruz are "pretty much the same" should watch the Scary Ted Cruz video that's making the rounds. It's some serious Jesus Waving A Fiery Sword kind of shit.
