So now that you got Trump in charge, your path is clear to make fun of IBS handicapables?

Afrobeat
I was late to the Spotify game, and I was skeptical. I'd been listening to music passionately for decades, and the idea that Spotify would suggest songs or playlists for me, or even make specific playlists for me, was insulting. I was all like, "YOU DON'T KNOW ME, SPOTIFY." And the notion that your little algorithms can somehow capture my complex, erudite, nuanced musical tastes is absurd. But the more I listened, the more the playlists became spookily on point. Which I guess is the point. Anyhoo, I have now resigned myself to the fact that Spotify knows me better than I know myself.
This is all a long way of saying that the following is an Afrobeat playlist Spotify suggested for me yesterday that is quite enjoyable, if you are into that sort of thing.

Fuck Spotify with a rusty wrench. I get 2 cents per 10,000 plays. The China profitable business model.

"Once 270 electors are pledged, the compact would kick in." What does that mean? Like I get Nevada can change how its votes are pledged. but once 270 electoral votes have agreed to go that way then all states are pulled that way, as in a Constitutional amendment? If it is just the state changes its votes in a vacuum, it seems like liberal states are throwing away the chance to flip a vote that the Dem might win even w/o winning the popular vote?

Yes, any Dems backing the compact are giving up the chance to win w/o a popular vote majority.

Okay, makes sense. and I guess that actually resolves the second question I asked.

understood and if it only kicks in when the total gets to 270 that it isn't a give-up. I was thinking a bunch of blue states do this while the red say fuck no, so what does it get the blue?

If a fetus has rights at six weeks, that includes the right to be an American citizen, yes?

Re: Doesn’t Matter Who Wins the K Race; We’re All the Same
I wonder if Trump and Barr are dumb enough to think Assange has nothing to trade.
So to the whole world we are now the country that lets its President’s consigliere prosecute a foreign national for journalism.
I don’t care about much. But press freedom I care about deeply. I hated when Obama viciously went after leakers, and I was encouraged by Trump’s embrace of Wikileaks. Naively, I assumed he’d attack media bias but embrace the leaking and publishing of secrets that basically gifted him the Presidency. Instead, he’s using Assange to send a message and create a diversion from his own criminal investigations and his AG’s behavior.
And grotesquely, many on the left and right will applaud or engage in the worst sophistry to defend this indictment.

Doesn't the indictment allege that Assange helped Manning break into government systems? That's not something the press usually does, and it is criminal, no?

You and your logic... That’s a state’s rights issue, son! If Mississippi don’t want a kid to be a US citizen, it’s got the right say he ain’t one. And we don’t have no business in tellin illegals what they can and can’t do with coat hangers.
