I'm not fine with people doing the endless insubstantial smear on Hillary Clinton. It stunk when Gingrich did it, it stuck when Citizen's United did it, it stunk when Issa did it, and it stinks when Bernie supporters do it.

You looked at the UBS issue, one of the smears popular among the Berning Men, and concluded it was hokum, but then focused on pinning stuff relating to JP Morgan Chase on her. And from what you said about it, it all sounded like a bunch of thin reeds dealing with something well outside her portfoilo.

Vote for who you want. Waste your vote. But lay off the Citizens United echo chamber against Hill.

I have seen a few things about Hilary that have given me something to think about. If only she weren't so fervently pushed by the same sort of demagogue one sees in the Republican side. You know, the sort of supporter who accuses anyone who speaks unfavorably of her as if they were a drone of the Koch brothers, or a closet hater of everyone and everything but Jesus. That sort of rabid support makes me think that she isn't being critically tested and pushed toward excellence by those around her.

If he comes anywhere near you, please go see him. I promise you that you will not be disappointed. I am actually old enough to have seen Fela live. But I have never seen the linked video. Good stuff.

 | If you criticize her for her Iraq vote, I'll understand the point and tell you why I put it in perspective, even though I disagreed with her vote. Sidd and I have had this discussion.

If you criticize her for the way her campaign tried to use race in the run against Obama, I'll understand the point and share a lot of your view, even if I figure Obama got over it and so can I. TM and I have had this discussion.

If you criticize her for a deal done by other departments, without being able to identify how she was involved or mattered in resolution, but kind of think she must have been part of it, well, expect something between dismissal and derision. You and I have had this discussion recently.

 | Pure dumb luck. I barely knew who Fela was. He was supposed to be first of a three act concert at Great Woods. It was going to be Fela, then Toots, then Jimmy Cliff. I was all about seeing Toots and, because of schedules, we were going to arrive shortly before Toots got on and miss most or all of Fela. I think Fela objected to being the opener, though, so Toots went on first. When we arrived, Toots was almost over, and Fela was next. Fela did something like an hour set with three songs. Mind. Blown. I think Jimmy Cliff is great, but after Fela . . . . Anyway, go see Femi. As for today's Daily Dose in the funk realm, well, I'm kinda obsessed with the Meters. If that's wrong, then I don't want to be right. It would be hard to come up with a better name for this song than "Ease Back."
