		| Woman pleads no contest to chips-for-sex
 Associated Press - June 24, 2009 11:05 AM ET

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A woman has been fined $1,142 after pleading no contest to prostitution charges after she was accused of accepting a box of chips for sex.

Police say they arrested 36-year-old Lahoma Sue Smith in southeast Oklahoma City after finding her in her car with a man who told officers he knew he could find a prostitute in the area.

Smith told officers the man said he didn't have any money so she agreed to accept a $30 case of chips as payment.

The man was not charged and his name hasn't been released.

I'd rather we get Artest. there are actually a few good bigger guys around.
 | BG is generally amazing when he tries. Which seems to be about every third game--except in the playoffs. But he plays *no* defense, ever. Don't know what the point of putting him on a team with Rondo and Allen would be, unless it's part of dumping salary for the '10 FAs--Rip's signed thru '12, and Stuckey and Tayshaun thru '11, while Ray and Rondo are both FAs next year.

eta: And here's some insight on why Rondo is being shopped:

 'POSTED: June 24 -- 12:43 p.m. ET

Chris Broussard: Rajon Rondo is definitely on the market. I'm told he's very hard for Doc Rivers to coach, and that although Rondo gets along OK with his teammates, he's far from a great teammate. The fear in Boston is that if Rondo is this difficult to handle on a rookie-scale salary, he'll be a monster once he earns big money.

One GM told me, "They won a championship with this guy, and he's coming off a tremendous playoff performance ... and they're looking to trade him. That tells you how bad things are."'

				It's the thought that counts?

so I just watched Gran Torino, and I drove a 72 GT through HS, but not the Sport.
Prologue to this note- there is a scene where Eastwood sits on his porch and watches as his elderly neighbor drops her groceries on the sidewalk. First a few teen gang guys walk by and mock her, then the kid he will bond with walks up and helps her. You can tell Clint approves of the helping.

 Yesterday:

i drop my son at the airport- and that screws up my running times. I can't get out early, and so I go running at 4 in 92 degrees and muggy. I finish 5, and am walking down my block cooling down.

A woman pulls her minivan into a driveway in front of me, hits her liftgate button, and groceries fall to the driveway. A platter of cut vegetables scatter across the pavement.

She gets out, with a 7 y.o. kid. She starts picking up stuff, and I say "let me help," and start on the far flung cukes and tomatoes, for some reason they travelled farther than the brocolli.

She says, "oh, don't worry, I'm fine." and I realize that helping people has become suspect, so I tell her, "I just saw Gran Torino, so I have to help." But I don't think she'd seen it.

By that point I've a handful of tomatoes and cukes, and I realize that I am dripping sweat all over them, so I toss those in her bowl, and say good bye.

In retrospect, I'm not sure she saw my contribution as helpful.

 | The year when Beckham first came into the league I bought a package of 4 NY Red Bull games to get the Galaxy game. Jozy Altidore, NY forward that year was a conspicuous talent, even scoring twice against the Galaxy.

Of course, soon after -- swoop -- off to Europe.

Shaq and LeBron on the same team? what's the over/under for total foul shots and resulting length of game?
I predict 4 hour games, but at least the fat man will get his rest while LB is at the line.

Nordstrom's sale is this week, and I feel I should restock my wardrobe, but I lack all inspiration.
