Stone? I heard it was no harder than room-temperature butter.

I won't even go the Jack White replacements. I love Jack, but come on.

The problem with some of these names (like Vai), I think, is that they weren't with any one band for decades, as was the Edge, so while they may have a distinctive guitar sound (and prodigious talent) they didn't push a distinctive band sound.
Van Halen's an exception, but putting van Halen with Jimmy Page would go against one of the themes of the movie, as I understood it -- the idea of the second person having a very different sound than Page/Zep.
At the end of the day, I'd probably rather watch How the West Was Won again, but I'd still like to see this movie.

Talent, esp. wanky talent, ain't everything. With the possible exception of Morello, no way I'd see the movie with any of those guys filling in for the Edge.
Now Peter fucking Buck? That would be a different story.

12 and 21. Both would be subs for the Edge, who's 17 years younger than Page.

An Ethnic Fashion Question
A few weeks ago, I went on a cocktail dress buying binge because, well, why not.
My favorite is a fabulous little dress with a unique pattern woven into the fabric. The pattern signifies a certain country's culture. The boyfriend is the same general ethnicity, but a different ancestral country.
Am I an asshole if I wear it to a gala with him?*
e/o
*The issue is not him. He would enjoy it for the kitsch factor alone, but then he's an exile from tcotu and has a sense of humor regarding such things.

It depends. Are you showing much leg or cleavage? Also, are you already an asshole? Welcome to the Boards!

Not an asshole. The pattern gives people an excuse for staring at your tits. ("I was just trying to determine what country that pattern derives from. Are erect nipples more a sign of the Zimbabwean Ndebele, or the South African?")
