My guess it's the "trunk of the car" part that caught the authorities' attention.

2. The only possible way it could have been redeemed is if Notre Dame had been number 1, but even so--seriously misguided.

That's flawed logic. Are they such douches that they would proudly proclaim "#1 douchiest school"?

Dunno why, but this image reminds me of Flower:

Using the actual caption from Glamour . . . nice.
For anyone interested, Jezebel had a good take on this last week.

She was also on the Today Show yesterday morning talking about it with the editor of Glamour. (link also via Jezebel)

Costanza never would have treated his body like an amusement park had this been in his issue of Glamour.

I think most of you are focusing on sports, which does make Duke #1* for a certain type of douche, but that test misses the standard everyday douchiness- to me the "where do you go to college?"
"in Boston." type douche behavior goes a long way versus the Duke arrogance.
*only because ND has sucked so completely in all sports for a long while now.

I have never met anyone from Duke (and I don't think anyone on this board went to Duke, in which case, if I met you and forgot, I could be wrong) that I liked. They all have this kind of special doucheaura they emit.

A good friend of mine, and the husband of another good friend, both went to Duke and are doucheaura free.
That said, to a simple midwesterner like me, the combination of money and a strong greek culture, which is common in private schools in various parts of the country, inevitably leads to a presumption of doucheiness (that is probably unfair).

I've only met a handful, but one of that handful invited me to a party of duke alums in Arlington Va. I didn't like anyone there, and the douche factor there was strong. but the list does support each of its picks, and the reasons hold water.
