Is it possible to "overspend" on hookers and mind-altering substances?

My only posting styles are incoherent and mispelled, which I pull off quite well, thank you very much.

I wouldn't start suggesting people stop in at any time. Isn't it bad enough that Flinty is always there with the binoculars?

C-list, her posture is important because it gives a sense of how the garment hangs.
A signature sweater I could wear for the next 5-10 years might be worth it at the original $1400 price and it's certainly worth $500.
Clothes are an investment. I have pieces I bought 10 years ago that women still stop me and ask about. I am wearing a gown next week I bought in the 90s, as it is timeless and beautifully constructed and it fits the bride's theme. (Or I may wear this new short cocktail dress I totally love because who thinks "the 30s" is an appropriate theme for a wedding.)
Having a sense of style has nothing to do with spending a lot of money on clothes, to be sure. That does not mean that it's not important to buy some killer stuff, wear them with confidence, and assemble them into a wardrobe.

This pretty much settles your white trash street creds. All you need is a mangy dog and some cars up on blocks. Does the soon-to-be Mr. dtb have a nice selection of wife beaters?

Anytime a blackout is involved, any moolah after that point probably falls into the overspending category, unless the hooker is still there in the morning, at which point you can try to amortize the original investment over breakfast in bed. Or at least that's how Penske rolls.

Well in that case, it was totally worth the extra 500% (minimum) mark-up!!

I have been to exactly 3 fashion shows in my life. There are several reasons to overspend there, but how the clothes look on the model has little to do with it. Oral to completion - well, yes, that's one of them.
They're actually kind of fun, and much of the crowd is giggling at a large number of the outfits and a large number of attendees. Best one I went to though was a fundraiser for Jesse Jackson and that was pretty much a rave with class.

I think your basic department store has at least 300% markup so 500% isn't that much worse. But you forgot EO's post about her discount designer web sites. She doesn't pay that kind of markup.

I'm *not* going to pay a lot for that muffler.
