Any advice on conveying information about proper nutrition and portion size to a man in deep denial?

Count his calories for him and then count the number of calories he burns on average every day. Convert the difference into pounds gained in front of him and be quiet as it sinks in.

It doesn't matter how often I use the colon; It only matters that I use it more often than the semicolon.

Kind of like Oprah.
Still the best haiku I've ever written.

Speaking of Oprah and bad spin class songs, I have to admit that the group dance the Oprah audience did to that terrible Black Eyed Peas song was kind of cool. Let us not speak of this again.
Also, although I have been the non-Wilco-loving outlier on this board for a while, the more I hear "Wilco (the song)," the more I think it kicks ass. Something about the riff and the wailing feedbacky guitar. That's rock and roll.

You are not alone in your outlier status. You are alone in thinking that song kicks ass.

I recently read that to lose weight, one should eat 11 x one's current weight (assuming 30 minutes of exercise 3 times a week) in calories, to lose 1 pound a week.

No. He is not alone.
You're not alone, Flower. You. Are. Not. Alone.

I more frequently use semicolons. But why is the "e" key under your left middle finger and the "a" your left pinky?

I always suggest fasting and...wait, don't you have a vomitorium?

i use both " and ' more than semi-colon or colon. semi-colon and colons should be shift options for " and ' if you want to be truthful.

in Metro Detroit, the spin class teachers all carry a Nazi aura, both in looks and in the clipped orders. spin instructors in a state that is 95% Aryan must be very scary- like in uniforms?

Good strategy, but I will leave that to his girlfriend as I lack credibility on the issue.
I just saw this in my rss feed: Hard Truth About Just How Many Calories Are In Fast Food: "Other shockers: the Dunkin' Donuts Blueberry Crumb Donut weighs in at 470 calories — disconcerting for something that takes three seconds to eat — and the Subway footlong Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki packs an un-Jared-like 760 calories between its buns."

760 for lunch. 760 for dinner. 300 for breakfast. That leaves room for a snack or a few glasses of wine.
