On another point, I don't know why Obama has to shut down LA traffic 2X per year to raise money. It's really fucking annoying. At least he's getting $40K a plate to do it. |

Is Cain for real? I just saw a poll that was taken before his straw poll win that shows him leading the field. |

I think Sebby made this point years ago, probably with more flair than I.
 | When you watched The Untouchables, I'll bet you walked out of the theater saying, that Kevin Costner is handsome and that Sean Connery talks nice, but I just could not stomach their immoral and unjust tactics.

These days there are, what two or three countries (probably should know precisely), where price fixing is a crime and extradition is theoretically possible, so at least they have a pretext now. |

				Where the middle is

Krugman said this, so it has to be wrong right? Does it matter if Greg Sargent (whoever that is) also said it?

But it sure sounds right to me. The Dems are pretty darn close to what the supposed centrists, especially the ones who claim they want a third party in the middle and/or a Bloomberg presidential run, say they want. Especially Obama. |

There is no sense of calibration. They use the same grey area tactics in dealing with the little guy as they do with the mob. |

Especially Obama. | If you were a centrist and you really thought we needed a centrist third party, the way to move in that direction would be to start a party and create a platform and then to endorse D & R candidates who supported your positions. Throw some weight around to get people to move to the center.

Unfortunately, the centrists we actually have are useless preeners who are more interested in posing as centrists than in actually accomplishing anything. Thus, they position themselves between the two parties but can't actually bring themselves to draw distinctions and make choices between them.

It's only a problem when they're used on one's friends.

You start a movement to move one of the two parties to the center.

We already did that, but somehow most of the country missed it. It's weird, really.

We have many "serious people" who are so invested in "pox on both their houses" as the means of maintaining Serious Person status that clearly whatever the Dems say must be a far left policy.

ETA: Removed the shout out to Sebby as he's kind of moved off his old "pox on both their houses" shtick. |

And cheered every grey tactic used to get them there.

 | fuck you. I make choices and distinctions all the time. so do Club and Sebby. It's all you wingers that can't ever drop the party banner.
