In addition to questioning the purported reasoning of this memo, I'm also rather perturbed about the reporting about it. Clearly, someone from the administration showed it to the Times, and then was interviewed about it off the record, in an arrangement that smells of official anonymity of the worst sort. Transparency indeed.

the point from the start of these posts was to teach these socks that daily railed on against W that W was simply doing that which any president would do. The beautiful parallels between the two presidents' decisions is more than I had hoped for. But perhaps these socks have already admitted they were foolish, and thus I can stop?
