But it does underscore the need to have a will in place, at any age. I want strict instructions specifying that anyone who dares eulogize me, or sing a stitch of any goddamned weepy shit at my funeral be taken to the parking lot and beaten with blackjacks. There'll be escrow monies placed aside to cover the costs of having thugs at the ready.

And there is still more "news" to come on the drugs in his system/home, control of the estate, and what Debbie Rowe might do WRT the kids.

Do you remember when Princess Diana died? I'm guessing this will be at least that much, perhaps more. |

 | I'm set. Pine coffin, bagpipes, lots of whisky for the guests. [I'd rather be put on a raft and set on fire and pushed to sea, but don't think one can get permits for that]

Anyone have funeral plans that are interesting (or would subject you to ridicule).

 | I've told my family I want to be cremated. I'm not sure if I've also mentioned that I'd want my ashes scattered in a part of the back pasture we call "The Island." |

 | I'm a bit of a traditionalist about such things. In my family, when someone dies, everyone gets together, drinks a lot, mends any rifts in the family, drinks some more, fights over the details of the mass/service/visiting hours/wake/burial/immolation, tries to figure out what religion the deceased really was when it really counted, drinks more, fights over the memory of the deceased, and threatens violence. If no one actually comes to blows, then at least one pair of people pledge never to talk to each other again. After the funeral, everyone spends the time until the next funeral or wedding trying to mend the rifts, which persist until we're next drunk together.

It's simple, but it works. The best, though, is when we get an accordian. So I'm going to have an accordian. |

 | I had something pretty simple and understated in mind. Simple, non-religious, brief funeral with a no-dress up rule, plenty of food and drink, and a large, 6' X 8' color poster of me in my youth, smiling and giving the finger.

 | My boyfriend has requested the "on a raft, set on fire (by flaming arrows) and pushed to sea." I told him I'd see what I could do.

A friend's husband was burried in his Bentley somewhere in Idaho.

My dad has requested the fourth movement of Beehtoven's 9th Symphony and Tom Petty's "Breakdown" (live version from [i]Pack Up The Plantation[/url].

The Displaced Dog's ashes are sitting on my fireplace mantle. I wouldn't mind having mine and his scattered together at the ranch. Or made into a painting by a friend of ours whose medium is cremations.

Why not do it? What are they going to do, arrest him?
