Didn't C2d go to Duke. I liked her.
My schools were beneath the notice of the article writer.

It's both a good thing and a shame that the inclusion of that photo in a fashion magazine has had such a overwhelming positive reaction. Doesn't seem like that big a deal and I'm as superficial as they come.

While it is an award I have always covetted, why? Have you ever questioned your attractiveness by compairing yourself to George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Tyson Beckford or a series of nameless models with perfect bodies?

So she did. Just confirmed it on Facebook. She is the one exception.*

The difficulty is this cultural issue that thin = good and that very thin = better.
There is a lot of societal pressure to be thin. If you work in pr, in entertainment, in media, or in fashion that pressure can be absolutely overwhelming. The images normally portrayed in fashion magazines and on television are unrealistic and unhealthy for women.
There is no balance with regard to body acceptance and there are very few places where normal women, who are not size 0 can see images that reflect who they are.

Speaking of perfect bodies, I bought one of these (AS SEEN ON TV!) for $30 at CVS:
For pull-ups, it's outstanding. Color me surprised. Then again, pull-ups are something I actually enjoy doing (I don't like most weight-lifting exercises). It's easy to assemble, and you can put it up and take it down in seconds. I will do pull-ups between sips of wine (not scotch).

Agreed, and I would add to that a lot of societal pressure on women place significant value on their attractiveness.

It used to be hard for me to post here when paigow would constantly compare other posters to this perfectly-shaven guy:

I don't think there was ever a point in my life at which I could do more than 4-5 pullups, including when I used to spend rather a lot of time in the weight room.
As for your implication that men feel the same pressures (and thus buy crappy fitness products), I'm not sure that is right. Men may want to improve their self esteem by improving their fitness or appearance, but I don't think men are socialed in the same way to define themselves as much by their appearance.
And yes, I recognize the silliness of discussing this at such a broad level of generality.

I implied nothing. I actually bought the product and like it. I like doing pull-ups and this thing makes it convenient to do them. I don't consider the product to be crappy (at least for pull-ups - it sucks for dips).

If you're going to go that route, it should be "Broads. What the fuck?"

Most people don't like them. But they are the reason I look like Brad Pitt and George Clooney.
